They did. It's a mixture of both. Your blaster has a overheating system, yes, but you can reload at any given moment to execute a cooling flush. There is also a depleting health. Thus, medics ( Officers ) are involved.

Saddest part is now that I finally have it, once battlefront 2 comes out there won't be enough players for me to play anymore. Worse part is that since I got the ultimate edition I can't even play on any of the expansions because there is no player base left and no skirmish modes. GG EA, you conned me out of my $5 and game me practically nothing.
