Hey guys. The new trailer for Battlefront 2, almost in the same day as the Last Jedi. Here's the link to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngd2d0wrCj0 I'll post here all the facts and knowledge that I have. Cheers to star wars!

A Campaign

We will be told a story through a Imperial Special Forces protagonist named Iden Versio, commander of Inferno Squad. Her home planet, Vardos, is confirmed to be playable. You will also be playing as Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren.
The era will process from the Galactic Civil War to the rise of the First Order. The Imperial character, female, will start off on her revenge mission to avenge Emperor Palpatine after the destruction of the Empire.

All eras
The game will have every era of the Star wars films, from the Phantom Menace to the Last Jedi. Every era will be free, except the Last Jedi, which is at the time of this post, a pre-order bonus.
We will have access to many heroes and villains, of which the game is proud to showcase. Here is the confirmed list,
  • Luke Skywalker
    Rey
    Kylo Ren
    Yoda
    Darth Maul
    Jango Fett
Each character will have unique abilities and will be up-gradable.

There is more to come.

Team Oriented Gameplay
This game will feature classes. As you probably have guessed, they will be divided to have different tactical edges. You will be able to play as Clones, Droids, Rebels, Resistance, First Order, and the Empire. The current list of confirmed classes are Infantry, Snipers, Heavy Gunners and Officers. You can ride multiple vehicles, and as such, there will be a heavy emphasis on vehicle combat, this includes atmosphere and space battles.
You will be able to customize your vehicles as well as your infantry and heroes. A pre-order bonus includes Kylo Ren and Rey for their costumes in the Last Jedi.

and finally, the release date is November 17th of this year.

Get yer star wars on kiddo's

^ aye, already a big improvement over the last game. Also the inclusion of the prequels is a big step forward I think too. Sad that that basically brings us to where we were with the ORIGINAL Battlefront 2, but nonetheless it's good to see them learning from their mistakes :)

Despite how it's looking up, the list for deluxe addtiions is strangely dissapointing and lacking. I do not recommend buying this, even though it looks like it'll be incredible.
Here's the list of the 80$ edition.
  • Access to play Star Wars Battlefront II on November 14—a 3-day head start
Upgraded versions of all 4 trooper classes (Officer, Assault, Heavy, and Specialist)
4 epic ability upgrades—one for each trooper class
Instant weapon unlocks and weapon modifications for each trooper class
Exclusive Kylo Ren- and Rey-themed looks, inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Epic ability modifiers for Kylo Ren and Rey
An epic ability modifier for the Millennium Falcon

This also confirms, from,
weapon modifications
, we will be getting weapon customization.

I'll wait until they release gameplay before I board the hype train. Talk is cheap and cinematic trailers rarely reflect actual gameplay experience.

Exactly what I'm thinking at this current point in time.

I wasnt really disapointed with Battlefronts gameplay, was actually surprised how well optimised the game was, cant also argue with the visuals they really create a nice atmosphere, but it became kinda boring and repetitive and offten unbalanced, I wish they just take few steps back and reflect on the original battlefront, even the cancled battlefront 3 where you could go from ground battlefield to space. Also I remember I had tons of fun with galactic conquest in the original battlefront, but too bad the npcs in singleplayer are garbage

Hey look, they're finally releasing all that stuff that should have been in the original game

    Tanks will be playable.
The official names of the classes are as followed, Officer, Assault, Heavy, and Specialist.

While we are waiting for extra news, I'd like to share a thing I am most excited about in Battlefront 2.
So, in the first game, I was very disappointed to find out that Ben Kenobi would not be a playable character for the Death Star DLC. I was wildly speculating on his abilities, such as, to heal other heroes or maybe mind trick Stormtroopers. Now, though I do not know for sure, I am extremely ecstatic about the idea of Ben Kenobi.

This is my idea of his abilities, in a realistic and balanced manner:
  • Ability 1: Mindtrick up to eight enemies at a time to appear yourself invisible. Effect lasts for 8 seconds, 5 seconds for Villains.
Ability 2: Sacrifice yourself. As you hold up your blade, the first enemy to attack you gets killed.
Ability 3: Heals yourself and anyone standing within your vicinity.
I always figured Ben as a more defensive and master of the Force kind of character. My favorite type of game tactics is defense and deception, so he'd be my favorite.

The game will only appeal to me until Lord Jar Jar enters the battlefield

Ability 1: Force Persuade: secretly converts a player to their side, if the player does not cooperate Jar Jar will crush his will along with his body
Ability 2: Gungan Storm: unleashes his fallen brethren from beneath the ground to wreak havoc on his enemies lasts until Jar Jar is defeated
Ability 3: Immortality: this is a passive, once he enters the field he cannot be harmed you poor naive fools are about to witness the power that is Jar Jar Binks

Update*
We will be seeing Yavin 4 as a playable map.
More details later, but we will be seeing a mixture of a regular reload system as well as the cooling flush mechanic from Battlefront 2015.
We will have dedicated servers.

A message from Dice's creative director,
" We don't have a Season Pass. While we're not ready to confirm any live service plans just yet, what we can say is that we have heard the feedback from our Battlefront community loud and clear. We know they want more depth, more progression, and more content. So we're focused on delivering that in every dimension of Star wars Battlefront II. Will have more to share about our plans soon. "

Dennis Brannvall replied to a comment about why we didn't see Clone wars in the trailer. The commenter asked if that will be a separate DLC.
His reply, " haha no since we're still in development some models weren't ready to be shown yet. They'll be there. "

From pcgamer
  • In his review of DICE's Star Wars Battlefront in late 2015, Andy suggested the multiplayer-focused FPS "brilliantly" captured the essence of the Star Wars universe, but that "beneath its cinematic flair lies a pretty generic multiplayer shooter." With Battlefront 2 due in less than seven months, the game's creators have now opened up about how these criticisms will be addressed in the sequel.

Specifically targeting depth and personalisation in Battlefront 2's multiplayer, DICE's creative director Bernd Diemer told PC Gamer that it wants to boost heroes' presence this time round so that getting them is "not restricted to the lucky few" or the best players in the game.

"[They tended in Battlefront 1] to drift towards players with the most kills or lucky players, because that's how it goes in these games," says Diemer. "We said, no, we want something that makes it more likely that more players will experience that. So, cool idea. What happened then is, we had more heroes in the match at the same time, and that meant the troopers were kind of becoming the fodder. As a single trooper, it's very difficult to stand up against a hero—much less two.

"We thought, how can we give you more tools so you're able to hold your own against a hero, at least for a certain time? And the best answer we could come up with was team play. How can you make team play more attractive? And the obvious answer is by classes, because it's so natural that if you're playing classes, you look for your buddies so you have a good mix of what you together feel comfortable playing."

Diemer continues, suggesting this change will allow players to stand up to heroes by forming squads with friends and levelling up your trooper. In turn, heroes are no longer guaranteed be to all-powerful game-changers.

In a bid to boost personalisation and depth further, Battlefront 2 will also introduce abilities and gadgets. "Adding more depth was one of the first things that we decided we wanted to do," Dimer adds. "For the different items in the game and different categories, we decided to come up with different methods of how we do that. And for troopers, if you think about a trooper who doesn't really have a personality because you as a player step into the boots of a soldier, you are yourself. You don't have names. What you want to do is give your trooper a little bit of personality.

"And for that, you need to be able to customise them in some way so it feels right. I really like using grenades, so I might try to pull my class a little bit towards my favourite toy or my favourite gadget."

Update*
  • When asked if their story structure will follow Battlefield 1's 'war stories' formula or if it will be linear, Lucasfilm's creative executive Steve Blank replied with, '' Without getting into much detail that I will get in trouble for, we take all of our queues from how to tell a Star wars story from lucasfilm storygroup, analyzing the movies, breaking down the beats, and flow of star wars storyteling. So yes, it is a continuous story with a beginning, middle, and end. And you follow Iden's journey for thirty years, from the end of Return of the Jedi to the Force Awakens at Starkiller Base. "

There are three teams per these three sections. This will make the time to develop a non-factor.
Campaign = Motive
Multiplayer = Dice
Space Battles = Criterion

Meh, you probably would end up paying more if they put all this into expansion packs and sold them individually.

Update*
  • Hero combat is now drastically different from the original. A quote from Sledgehammer seventy, " I think you need to keep in mind, even in the movies and stories, heroes didn't just run out and get slaughtered. they were tactical and mindful of their situations. Maul was never running and taking out nineteen other troopers and Jedi, he was smart and decisive. "
Heroes will still be amazing things to have on the battlefront, but you need to be mindful of their abilities, how they play and use the advantages they bring to the table. Will opportunities arise when you can slaughter your opponents? sure, but you need to be tactical about it. "
Multiple Heroes and villains can be on the battlefront.
Soldier skins and models will, as per the original 2015, reflect the environment.
