Hey guys!
So if you weren't aware last week was the Game Developers Conference (GDC). GDC is usually a place for developers from around the world to basically come together and discuss their ideas and innovations. Some people come to find jobs and some come to find employees. Some of the large developers use this time to reveal something about their latest project or maybe hint at something they are going to officially announce at E3. This year at GDC Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions relieved the truth behind their next project, Metal Gear Solid V (MGSV). MGSV is the combination of both Ground Zeroes, a game that was reviled a few months back, and Phantom Pain. Phantom Pain was announced alongside a trailer during Kojima's press conference. The trailer itself was stunning but the information given by Kojima afterwards was even more incredible. Everything in the video was rendered in real time, meaning it was rendered at 60 frames a second. This means that the game itself could look this good while playing the game, if on a machine powerful enough. No idea what it will be on but I would guess Playstation 4?
Here is a link to the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuRY9aWsem4
This is so stunning to me that I cannot stop thinking about it. For those of you who are Metal Gear fans and those of you who are just fans of the game industry and 3D in general I thought I would share this.
Here is the entire panel where they go over the tech of their engine, if this is interesting to you I recommend watching it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQMbxzTUuSg
