I was playing mount and blade as a lord of rhodoks... betting phrees gonna post here about all the more lands he owns than me :P And i was looking at my honour rating and i thought " What is honour?" i mean throughout history there have been many different types of what people consider " Honourable actions " or "Honour" so what system of honour do you believe in??

Is Mount & Blade good? Which is it? The multiplayer or single player game? Im tempted to buy it... but.. but... I don't feel its worth it.

The single player is quite good if you like the idea of a sandbox game - no fixed story line but plenty to do the multiplayer is solely based off combat but i can safely say mount and blade has been an interesting game.

Stop going off topic.

Back to the initial question:
As for me, I think that honor can't really be a system. it's the amount of restraint you have on yourself in situations in which you are angry, prideful, or fearful.

what type of honor, NOTE i dont care whether this is spelled correctly or not, r u talkin about?? ud have to be more specific on what YOU mean by honor. either way to me its another word in the english vocabulary.

1.
honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions: a man of honor.
2.
a source of credit or distinction: to be an honor to one's family.
3.
high respect, as for worth, merit, or rank: to be held in honor.

Those were from the dictionary.. now for mine.

Honor (honour) is something these days that is totally destroyed by the TV and movies... hence, very few people actually know what it means. It's kinda like the term respect and how people use to get pissed off and say they werent shown the respect they deserve. Respect for what exactly.. no idea.

For me, honor is how you hold yourself when alone, and among others. It is standing up for what is right even if it means taking a beating, being embarrassed, or being made fun of. It is standing up for those who cant or wont do so for themselves... The guy who always gets picked on.. the girl who people make fun of.. whether what people say about them is true or not. It is never raising your hand towards a woman, nor raising your hand towards anyone without just cause (being pissed off is not just cause). It is telling the truth in all things, unless it causes unnecessary heart ache and pain in which case remaining silent.

It is accepting an apology and really meaning it (this is a hard one) so it's not just words but actions. It's giving apology and backing it up always with actions. It's never promising something you can not, or will not act upon. It's.. when possible, always giving aid to those who need or ask it of you.

.... Having honor.. real honor.. is taking responsibility for everything in your world. I mean EVERYTHING. These things are honor.
