Too many white flashes.. seizure imminent.. But yes, the maps overall seems really great, now i wonder if any of these makes a hellish lag with more than 4 people on ~Chuckles~

Lag is a thing of the past for mappers, There are humongous maps now that don't lag one bit.

It should be xD. I'm going to test this right now to see if it works for JKA, because ShroomDuck and his team are JK2 mappers, even though they make JKA maps too (they just are released later).

Yes, it's out, but for JK2.
Because of the similarity in creation between JK2 and JKA, the maps are all playable.

The backfire is that most of the maps have epic texture failure, due to JKA not having them.
There are backfires in the coding, too, since JKA has some advancements (if you play the caribbean maps, youll notice when you walk up to a switch it auto goes down, and if u get on a bed you bounce.)

The big cannon one is fun though, '10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and BOOM you get shot supa dupa fast.

It will, but you'll see most of the maps' walls as those black squares with the big white outline. Means you're missing textures.

Falcon and I have hopefully identifed all the missing textures. They are from JO, so we located all the missing files and I have put them into a patch file that should correct all the maps.

Due to my download limit being exceeded this month, I cannot actually download this map pack :P so therefore I cannot test this.

But try it for yourselves : get from http://www.egonomics.com/jka/jotexture.zip it is 11MB big

Unzip into base of course

Hmm, I'll go test this out when I get back from school. There's still the command function failure, as far as switches etc go, but this'll make it seem more realistic :D

Trust me, you'll want the textures. If what Jawfin and I did works, it'll look much better. Necros and I were testing it earlier not knowing it was for JK2 and most of the maps were a whole bunch of gray.

I finally got the map pack but

Sad news :(



Although we had located every missing file that is directly referred to and inserted them, the shaders were still missing. (FYI a shader is a text file that refers to image files and how to paint them, thus every animated thing on a map is a shader.)

Well, I wasn't going to open every one of the hundreds of shaders files that are referenced and track its images, so the download above won't work.

But good news :) and this works, but could have side-effects. Acquire for yourselves a copy of Jedi Outcast and on that CD locate the actual file "?:\GameData\GameData\base\assets0.pk3" and copy it from the CD to your desktop. Now rename this file to "aajo.pk3" - it must be thus named so alphabetically it will be read before all of JKA's assets files. This is very important, otherwise you will be playing JO and I don't know what that would do to the JKA installation, but it wouldn't be good. Now move this now renamed file into your "base" folder and all the maps will work perfectly.

If, for some reason, you don't have Jedi Outcast and would like to see these maps, then I think there are ways of acquiring it but I forget at this very second what they are *coughmsncough* so it may come to me if someone asks me later on *coughmsncough*.

While the textures and shaders work (and they are awesome :D), some maps like the new Bespin Streets map gives you a bunch of error msg's due to unexpected EOF spawns, and entity issues. It's probably best to wait until SD and his squad release the JKA version, since even though they're similiar, they're two completely different games.

The shaders installment was really clever though. But I noticed after putting the pk3 in base, there might be some issues with spawning, since when I spawned a rancor, theere was an "Invisible Wall" around it, until it was harmed. Then I crashed a few minutes later (but these things might just be me).
