So you all know Brett Favre possibly the best quarterback of all time (yes im a wisconsin cheesehead) traded to the Jets yesterday and i would like to hear some opinions, but if you dont give a crap about football then dont post. my opinion is that i would rather see brett retire than go to another team and not be a packer

As someone who is trying to take an interest in the sport since it is a spin off from what I play .. My opinion is simialr to yours

Dont know alot about him, but done a little research, I think it woudl be best to retire now while its there and if he made the desicion once might aswell do it when it felt right..

Temptation for money etc could result in a dampener on his overall carear result.

Best be known for all you achieved and went out as a hero than to come back struggle and flounce at the end... gives it a little tarnish no?

ps edit sorry slightly off topic whens the new season start??? not all that on the ball here, but I can grab it all on sky plus and then just fast foward on the digital between the commercials.. Thats what gets me with it 5 mins sport per 20 mins commecrials.. it loses momentum badly. but this way I can jusdt watch it through and through

Any suggestions who to support / follow? look out for?

To me, it's gonna be weird seeing him on a different team...he's been a Packer ever since I can remember. I personally would have rather seen him retire XP

PS. Steelers fan in the house! :D

yeah me 2, and richard a good team to follow would probably start with the patriots or colts. they are good teams to watch just for people who are new to football

Thanks are they Fanchise of provincials or are they Teams you mention there?

Incidentally I can think of an Analogy to your thread in my sport Rugby..

Our Jonny Wilkinson, you probably never heard of him but by the age of 24 he had achieved pretty much everything and for his position which is also where I play. He practically done what the greatest have done in their entire carea.. After we won teh world cup in 2003... he spent 4 years injured, hardly played

Came back... But while he stilll has skilsl and talent, the injury has taken its toll... he is only half the man he was and while he managed to aid us into the world cup final again against all odds.. post world cup its clear he isn the right man going forward... unless he is able to recapture his form

But to do that its like saying or betraying a hero who is only 29 to stop playing for your country..

Shoudl he step down,, yes... at least for now. The longer he stays the more it will dampen his carear as being known for someone who could bully and dominate a team to someone who was once good but now average..
