Everyone knows my history, how I occasionally go off the charts.

Tonight was not one of those times.

I believe the filter exists for a reason, no? Words that are not filtered, not that they're all acceptable in specific contexts, are within use on the server.

Just good banter between two people familiar with each other. Nobody is complaining, call pasta to the stand if you wish to dispute. Moving on very shortly there-after.

Subject B:

Nobody nor myself understands why I've been told to watch my language. The word is not filtered, and I am clearly not flaming. I am friends with the recipient of my message, as can be attested to and seen by the lack of an aggressive response.

Subject C, D, & E:

After this point I was silenced. As far as the admin who silenced me informed me, indefinitely. Luckily, a rational admin (Loki) was online and unsilenced me a few minutes after.

If I broke some kind of a rule I would love to be informed. As far as I am aware I was participating in playful banter with a willing subject, and nobody had any call of harassment or offense. The only person who was upset was the admin, who took it upon himself to silence me for an un-listed word.

If my links have issues, which I am nearly positive they will, pm me and I will send all images personally.

Realize in loue of my potentially absent images I should mention this post is referencing the admin abuse of the user Glenhal

(Double edit: This is only a wrongful silence as far as I am concerned. As much of a pain as it is to a player, I do not expect much here, and that isn't a kick at the discipline system; only an equivocal observation)

This kind of message, if I don't feel good with this kind of word, I'm right to deal with it. Same if its not filtered, on the server, we can have young people and that's is not good thing after me. Learn bad langague !!!!. My admining is not false, I have right to use it. I just protect the respect and denied the bad word in our Chat. If you hate, than an admin because you use a bad word. You have right to use this word in private message, not in the public

Have to support Echo, the server was peaceful in my opinion, nothing really 'out of order'. Just my two cents, sometimes letting one word (which isn't even filtered) slide is the wiser choice, keeps the good will of the players, and the general mood on a consistent high.

Glenhal is secretly a robot android. That's why he always kills the mood for absolutely no reason at all.

In terms of our rules even if the word is not in the filter and even if the party is willing if it is in terms a bad word it is up to the admin who is doing the task to determine I will not take sides as I was not on the server

Judging from the screenshots this was literally uncalled for. 'ass' is not even a bad word for crying out loud. Young kids could actually hear much worse at home than ass. Noone flamed anyone, this was a friendly convo with some banter for good measure. Silence for the sake of sliencing someone to get a fix or something.

Of course, The same could be applied to say bastard, which rarely have its proper place these days. (It's a hand-and-a-half sword! or file)
But, I will state, at one time ass was filtered, making the use of such names as "Creed the assassin" unusable for a couple of reasons But that filter was lifted as being too Draconian, which leads me to my second point..:

2. Maintaining the server's fun & feeling of safety is principally for the visitor, not the admin. A perfect example of this is people talking in another language - sure it's against the "rules" but I will allow it up until other visitors get upset by it. So, by extension, if name calling or insults affect those on server then it's time to do something. A perfect example could be the reference to Nazi's & Hitler, it would be fair enough to state that Israelites, Poles, Germans [in fact anyone in Europe], or even those of religious beliefs could have their sense of well-being affected = time to act.

In reference to point 2, it will be noted on several occasions admins also speak in other languages - but they know well that if people complain they will stop.

Look at the intent. If the intention was to be hurtful, then ton of bricks on them, no complaint from me - but if its their obtuse way of expressing themselves, and as another admin pointed out if acting on it is worse than letting it pass, well the answer is self-explanatory. That the word ass has now not only caused a disruption on server, and has now flowed onto the forums - so it stops here. This won't be pursued any further, and one would hope that at least people can take a lesson for future reference.
