I thought I'd share a story about volunteer work.
Last week I volunteered at the Land Rover Kentucky 3 Day Event, my family and I have been doing so for many years now. We volunteer in the Merchandise Tent and instead of hiring workers, they ask for volunteers on behalf of a list of charities, what ever charity that person picks, their wages are donated to that charity, plus a percentage of the profits from the Merch Tent goes to the selected charities. We always volunteer on behalf of the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital, so our wages go to them. We are given Volunteer and parking passes, hats, t-shirts, meal voucher and get to watch the event and roam the grounds.
