1. NO LENS FLARES yaaaaaaaay. No stupid looking like some kid had taken to the whole movie with coloured crayons like the last 2 did. That soo ruined it for that, made them almost unwatchable - so I am so happy it wasn't Abrams to ruin it!!!!!

2. A comment on the perceived intelligence of the viewers. Krall watches the broken glass for like 30 seconds solid, noticing the gravity patterns, before he jumps in with them, glass all around so it is evident he is in the same gravity anomaly. Then Captain Kirk speaks into the transponder, apparently to no-one as he got no reply, telling them something they can do nothing about anyway, that "Krall is using the gravity to get back to the center". Thanks Captain Obvious. I was so unobservant that I needed to be told that.

Awesome movie though!

Gonna watch it this saturday probably :) In fact, I am not familiar with this universe. Hope this is going to be an adventure :)

Eh, as an Original Series only Star Trek fan, I'll pass. The last two movies were, in my honest opinion, total crap. Respect to those who like them, but I just can't get into them. Too action minded.

I very much so loved the new Star Trek trilogy, however I only got to watch the previous two on netflix. This new one most then DEFINITELY won't be there for forty years or so, and it sucks because my sister and brother in law, my other sister and her boyfriend and my parents are going to go see it, and I'm like " the one time I like Star Trek.. cant see it >:C "

Still, I will see Star Trek beyond! soon!

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Had a great theater experience with a great crowd on opening night.
When they paid homage to the original cast, I cried a little on the inside.

Solid 9/10 film!

That's true. But it's also true of nearly every single movie sequel / series ever done. Like First Blood, Alien, Predator, Star Wars, Jaws, Matrix, Bourne Identity, Lethal Weapon, The Mummy, Terminator etc. I guess they feel they need to, to keep the interest.

Star Trek always was action styled, and not a complete hijack which say Alien and First Blood was. (Note, Rambo doesn't directly kill anyone - just that one guy who dies falling from the chopper after being hit by a stone.)

I'm just glad Star Trek Beyond was done well enough (even if its a reboot / not canon) to be enjoyed.

Oh, I agree, Jaw. I just don't particularly care for the newer Star Trek films. A little too much over the topness on a few different fronts. I'll just stick with the Original Series.

Yes that's totally true and funny about kirk reporting on Kralls leap to the gravity rift thing....I kinda thought that gravity rift could have gone very wrong for him and he was Hollywood lucky it lead him to his destination.
The last Star Trek movie was a lil too much especially in the last half but this one improved I thought.

The homage to the old Star Trek crew really does hit home though and I was bummed ambassador Spock had died though I guess Leonard nimroy died recently? I vaguely remember hearing about that.
Spocks tracking device on his girlfriend was funny but hey I'd put one on that girl too
