can we please disable the ja+ saber animations? it's so cheap and annoying it also can make base players angry when they play on the server because they'll think their game's glitching

No.

But seriously, ja+ moves can be fun to play around with sometimes. As far as base players go, they're unhappy with everything about ja+ and KR for that matter. And while we are disabling things we don't like, can we also disable butterflies, katas, dfa's, wiggle, poke, fall damage, Defeatdz, skilled players, and everything else that annoys me or kills me.

but base players can't recognize the moves and they'll think their game's glitching like i said trust me i've played base on KR before and some people used ja+ moves on me and it looks terrible and your character makes a star pose in the move cause the game can't register what's going on

I can relate to the sentiment Sam is having here. Surely some people (especially those with JA+) might enjoy that particular animation (where non-JA+ users just see that "star pose"). But to be fair, I'm sure ledge grab was also fun for certain people, yet the server has it disabled. Perhaps disabling the animation is not the answer that our leaders are looking for, but just wanted to point out that some people abuse the animation during FFA and makes it much less fun, which is why I think this was a legit request.

I do agree ja+ moves are fun but again they can be spammed by a number of players that can get really annoying

Most people are not effective at using ja+ moves, making this only a rare annoyance. Sure, it's not cool, because if chained correctly, they can 'stun lock' an opponent, resulting in unfair damage. HOWEVER, using ja+ moves are mostly considered a poor choice due to the temporary immobility, and difficult execution. Especially against a skilled opponent or in ffa, its effectiveness is limited; against an opponent unskilled in countering the same, it can be frustrating.

With that being said, ae and nick james are very good at using ja+ moves. They both understand that it's not generally cool but still a legal route to take. It's the same thing as staffers using kick-based styles, frustrating but not against the rules. With THAT being said, they are certainly the exception and not the rule. Few people rely on these tactics, and they are usually worse off. If you run across it, they will probably own you once, because you're expecting the normal rules of engagement. From there, kindly remark about how their use of the same is hindering your fun. These individuals are mostly skilled anyway and will gladly duel you without ja+ moves. If they are rude, or refuse to stick to the 'normal' move set, don't duel them again; there are plenty of players around. Lastly, if this happens in ffa, avoid them, wait for them to use the move on someone else, and then kill them both. Or stop FFA'ing, but that's not my suggestion.

Switching gears:

You're a nice person and everything, but I've notice you've been pretty direct on the forums with your suggestions. They generally come-off demanding. I've only been in KR for about 4 months but can tell you with 100% confidence, that is not how things work. We welcome suggestions and discussion from non-members, but not direct decisions. Even within the clan, discussions are had for everything. We restrain from basing proposals and results on opinions, because that is simply not fair, and not how KR works.

Using this post as an example, a better way of approaching a NECESSARY topic in the future would be: "I felt that ja+ moves may have been used in an abusive way by a player (do not name) the last time I was on the KR server. He/she repeatedly used the same move on me, which I could not escape. Is this against the rules? Or is this potentially considered laming? Thanks for reading."

P. S. - like this response, try to compose a post or a response, with time, thought, and care. Time - did you say everything you wanted to? Rather than having you post 3 comments in a row to convey your sentiments? Thought - is it worth posting about? Did you already review the forums for an answer? Care - did you think about your audience? If you put yourself in their shoes, is it respectful?

Thanks for reading.

It's cool Sam. Thanks for your sincere concerns. I totally understand you have good intentions - no doubt about it!

However, from this point forward, it'd probably be a good idea to only worry about your personal experiences here. In efforts to ensure a fun, positive environment on the KR server, KR members are very active in monitoring and discussing issues and concerns.

So as I proposed in my last reply, reporting personal experiences in a respectful way will help us address issues just like this (or it has already been addressed)!

Thanks again!
