There was a school shooting that took place at Virginia Tech College here in the US that left 33 people dead and others injured. A student armed with a .22 and a Glock 9mm handguns showed up and shot 2 people in the dorms before arriving to a class, locking them in, and shooting 30 people and then shoots himself the make the death count to 33 people. This makes this horror the worst school shooting in US history.

Not all of the students were killed as the killer originally left the classroom once he thought he was done. When some survivors yelled for help the killer came back to finish the job. A holocaust Survivor Liviu Librescu Took it apon himself to use his body as a baracade and told the remaining students to run in which the students jumped out of the windows to try and survive. The killer then started shooting through the door killing Liviu Librescu in the process.

I myself was going to go to Virginia Tech for college but decided not to due to me having to be too far away from my fiance. This as I also have friends that went to Virginia Tech as well (they are all ok as the school is big and didnt take place where they were at) touches me and my friends deeply.

Many people lost there children, Husbands/Wives, siblings, and Parents in this shooting.(Liviu himself was married and had a son) So please pray for/keep these people in your thoughts and keep the people that were hospitalized for there injuries.

yea, this was horribble, its the worst school shooting ever in america. i dont have any connections to the ppl of the school, but i hope and pray for the best for all of them.

ya i wated like a 2 hour special on it last night. such a tragedy...this shooting took place about 4 days b4 the aniversary of columbine, and killed more than twice the ppl in that shooting...

Yea, this is all over our news as well. I find it unbelieveable that the school was not evacuated after the first killings. There was a two hour gap before he went on another killing spree, before commiting suicide- granted the police thought that the murderer had left the premisis, but to be honest if someone had been killed in my school I wouldn't be hanging around. Anyway, my condolences go to all the victims and their parents during this time.

To Evac a place like Virginia Tech is like trying to evac a small town. Its a very large campus and over half the people there didnt even know of the shootings till it was too late. They tried to send mass emails to the students but alot of people didnt recieve them of course. Just to simply lock down the school takes man power and time which 2 hours wouldnt be sufficient with 25,000+ full time students.

well its all over the world news cause the kid that did the shooting was korean. This is a big thing, so im really not to suprised that its all over the world but thank you for the news cast on this nin cuase i wasnt to sure of what happened as my sat. isnt working and dont watch the news i heard about it second hand from my sister and she didnt go in to it much

Point taken. Although I fail to believe that email is the only direct contact with students, no PA system?

One of the biggest mass killings in america...i saw it on the news...didnt pay much attention to it until something had sparked my eye....thats kinda scary thought for someone to go on a rampage like that and kill a bunch of ppl like that...

Virginia Tech has no PA system that I'm aware of, and from what I understand, they blocked all incoming and outgoing cell phone signals so that students would not inadvertently contact the media and all that jazz. Although, there's still no real excuse for not informing students earlier since campus security should have been more vigilant in their lock down. Regardless, I offer all the families of those involved my condolences. I'm still trying to get in contact with my friends from when I lived in Virginia to make sure everything is fine.

yea i read about it in the paper, i just think its ridiculous that things like this happen and I'm thinking of them, their families and friends at this point of time.
