This server is NOT the place to expose your beliefs, it's just about the fun with others. You seem to have no problem with your members promoting their own, though.

Squidlord: Multiple people were involved in a conversation, a very polite conversation, asking questions about a topic. You, a singular person, got offended by it and chose to complain and insult the participants in the conversation instead of just ignoring it.

You kids do not have the moral highground here, no matter what your hugbox mentality has taught you. I can fully see why social isolation is so common in y'all.

Bend the facts to justify your actions all you want, but this is what led to me being banned:
I pointed out that the word "gay" shouldn't really be on a word filter in 2015, especially considering that your clan doesn't have tranny, a far more insulting word, on the filter. There are tons of reasons one might use the word gay other than ad hominem.
I then noticed that the word niggardly, which has no racial connotations whatsoever, is ignorantly placed on the list as well. So I pointed that out too. I got silenced for showcasing an admin's ignorance of what a word actually means.

The "problem" was created by admins having a cliquey mindset that they think shields them from any criticism. Had you actually heard me out, and simply admitted that your word filter is outdated and problematic, I would not have continued to go on about it. Since you guys seem to lack people skills, and cannot handle a real-time conversation about places where your judgement might be wrong, you chose to abuse me with admin over and over instead.

You conflated my gender identity and sexual orientation, and when I corrected you on the distinction (because you didn't understand how a transgender person could be heterosexual), you called me gross and begged an admin to action me, even though you were the only one that found the topic objectionable. There were at least 3 participants in the conversation.

Maybe you haven't stepped out of your front door into the real world much in the last few years, but we're not just a porn topic. We're real people, you dick. "Family friendly" is code for "things that adhere to my strict, conservative Christian upbringing" from the looks of it; typical attitude of intellectually immature folk.

We don't promote our rules in the perspective of imposing them everywhere else than our server (you don't want to impose your culture and rules when you're abroad, for example). The rules weren't made for fun. They were established so the players can have fun. It is thank to these rules that this server is of the most joined. They're also the reason this server exists and is played at for so long (Around 10 years, if not more).

On a more personal note, I understand that you may suggest an update of the word filter. It is, therefore, none of your decision whether we'll do so and making a political statement like "Your Wordfilters are Illogical and Harmful to Minorities" as a topic in our forums is probably the last thing you should be doing to be heard: There's the content of what you say, then there's the way you say it.

If the admins had not freaked out and started slandering *my* name simply because I illustrated hypocrisies in your word filter, nothing would have happened. The situation was escalated by your staff, not I.

Your staff *should* be held to a higher standard than visitors to your server. Slandering someone, accusing them of racism and profane language for *questioning why non-racist, non-profane language is filtered in the first place*, is not mature admining.

But it's clear nothing I say will get through to you. Just as its clear that the Ferguson Police Department will never admit their role in that situation. People in power often wish to pretend to have 100% moral high ground, regardless of evidence to the contrary. While I can freely admit that I might've worsened the situation with my tone, *your staff still cannot admit that I didn't actually say anything racist.*

You talk about political stances. The only thing political occuring here is the corruption of your admin staff, who will leap to each others defense regardless of knowledge of the matter or presence in the situation, solely because of their pre-existing relationship with the person. The definition of the word hegemony.

The only difference is, this hegemony's participants aren't state leaders; they're fry cooks and hobby programmers.

Patti... first, being a Patti Smith fan, nice name =) Second, you may very well have very good points in your semi-insulting complaints about the points of view other people have on the server, including perhaps some KR members. But, the reality is this: the server is a game server; it exists for everyone to enjoy; our (meaning KR) greatest concern is to make sure that fun is maintained. Despite my, or anyone else's, opinions about whether your are correct or not, or have the moral high ground, or what have you, the fact that the topic you chose to discuss bothered someone else is enough for a KR admin to ask you to either take it to PM, skype, or someplace else. Your refusal to do so will lead, and from what I understand, did lead to you being in this predicament. Despite what you think, or how correct you are in your thoughts, you are not free to discuss anything you want on our game server.

As to your point about the word 'gay' being filtered, but the word 'tranny' not being filtered, I think if you truly understood what you think you understand, you would get why that word is filtered. Sadly, still today, that word is used negatively with the purpose of suggesting something is 'wrong' with the person to which it is directed - this is, at bottom, an insult. Sadly, it is far more common for that word to be used with the purpose to insult, than the word tranny. Hence, it is easier to just block it by a filter. I have no doubt that if insulting people using the word 'tranny' was frequently occurring on the sever, it would get added to the list. So, I think your gripe is a bit disingenuous to be honest. Anyway, hope that helps some... I get the impression it won't, but I thought I'd toss my thoughts into the pond =)

EDIT: I just wanted to point out, that posting your thoughts and complaints here probably would have been far more productive, and probably would have resulted in far less drama and grief. Speaking for myself, I have no problem listening to other people's thoughts and opinions on how to make the KR server better for people, and I highly suspect that there are lots of other KR members who feel the same way. So maybe in the future, a different approach might get you where you want to go

Excuse me, but what the fuck are you talking about? The word gay is not the word fag, and has been almost entirely reclaimed by the gay community. Calling someone gay is only an offense if you, the person hearing it, are homophobic. I brought this up the other day. Most gay people identify as "gay", not as "homosexual."

But...tranny? Tranny is offensive 100% of the time, unless you're talking about car transmissions. Hardly anyone uses it to mean that anymore, and hasn't since decades past.

My 'gripe' is not that you didn't amend the word filter when I brought these things up, my gripe is that you chose to silence me on the matter instead of simply acknowledge that there's a lot of truth to what I said. It is juvenile and extremely telling of the mentality of your staff, many of whom clearly simply want to use admin when they're feeling down; Deathscythe or whatever his name is proceeded to *find* complaint with the actions of others after dealing with me. Likewise for Midget, who banned or kicked someone the other day for "laming" their friend who asked them to kill them.

You can respect your rules without acting like an autistic robot about them. There is a concept in the legal universe known as letter of the law vs spirit of the law.
Letter of the law is the eye for an eye makes the whole world blind mentality. Spirit of the law is understanding when the rules are relevant to a situation, and when they are not.

I have, after all, seen KR members "lame" each other with good intent on several occasions. There is a major difference between an admin responding to a person laming repeatedly, and an admin claiming a technicality on someone because he wishes to log into the console and feel like a big guy for a moment.

It is unreasonable to expect people who are not members of your clan to go to your website and make posts as their first and most reasonable course of action. The vast majority of people that visit your server do not and never will have accounts here. Have some logical parity.

You wouldn't be one of those people that leave passive/aggressive notes around the house for your flatmates, are you? Sadly I couldn't conform to your brave new world which you are making with your newly learnt sociology skills, where you can make people better, you know, more like you - so good luck with that.

Unfortunately as you failed to observe the very obvious forum rules, and thus by playing double-or-nothing I congratulate you on winning nothing. We play on a game server, and chat on the forums which extend that: the point of their existence is having fun together and not being creeped out, and you failed to tick either of those boxes! I suggest perhaps a game more suited to your obvious talents, perhaps you could play a troll on WoW. Oh, wait, yea...

Oh and may I add that catering to someone who has a mind set of alittle 12 year old kid isnt morally correct because one day there maybe other issues that correcting this child could solve either in the same fashion as this or a huge split in your clan. I have seen it happen in the groups I was in previously just because one person was never corrected.
