I've been working on some sketches of a custom model/skin for JA, and a custom saber hilt. I've no experience in skinning and modeling, so I figured I'd ask around in here. The skins in the Universal pack are excellently designed and one model in particular looked like it could be effectively modified to suit my character. (Purple/black hair, camo jacket and pants woman) I was thinking said model could have utility belt modified so right side holster is shaped to carry a saber, camo would be replaced with minorly customized Imperial Officer's fatiques (Remnant character) the shades could be replaced with narrow square frame whiteglass specs, the hair could be minorly recoloured and shaped (possibly left the same in terms of shape. But I was considering a low bun instead of a ponytail.) and perhaps some fingerless gloves could be applied. As for my hilt, I've been trying for a simple design with a cylindrical wood grip and a few buttons, switches, clips, etc. at top and/or bottom of hilt. If someone is interested in taking on the task of making my concepts a reality, I can finish up my drafts and post them here for reference.

The modeling job sounds like something you'd find right up in John's alley... maybe he'll get back to you on it. I haven't done any weapon modeling in a loooong time, but depending on how complicated the sketch is I might look into it.

Sound like mostly reskinning, and the model part could be as simple as moving some vertices around. A sketch would be nice for what you want. Not the whole thing, just a sketch of the things you want changed would be nice.

I've completed the concept sketch of my saber hilt to be, "Exilus."
I can't figure out my mother-in-law's horrid scanner/Windows 8 combination. So I'll be uploading my concept sketch tomorrow from the university. The sketch includes some simple details that shouldn't be too difficult to model, but may require advanced texture work. (cloth grip wrap.) The draft includes a simple muzzle design and an alternate slightly more complex custom muzzle design that could be implemented optionally if the crafter is feeling fancy. I've included some notes to make the design somewhat clear, but I've not coloured it in for the most part. I will be checking on this post after posting my sketch to answer the questions of anyone interested in taking on this task. As for my character design, I'm having a bit of trouble working out a decent draft with my cooperative concept artist, so It'll be a day or two before I've finished and posted a usable concept for my skin/model. And again, my gratitude to any artist who decides to work on this project. ~TinLeaf

So, I left to the university, and realized far too late that my bag (including sketch book) was awaiting me back home. As such, I have not uploaded my saber sketch. (I'll try to figure out my family's scanner soon.) I am full of goofs this week. T~T
