I fully recognize that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and religion.

I don't necessarily "not" believe in God. I'm just one of those who has an extremely open mind.

I believe:
a) Religion COULD[/emphasis] just been an easier way to understand the creation of the universe.
b) There is always a logical, scientifical explanation for everything; including (?) God.
c) There could be a God, only interpreted (not wrongly) but differently.
d) What's the point of religion if there are ALWAYS competing religions. Theirs only one truth, isn't there? Why should it be interpreted so many different ways. Can't we all just get along? :)

That's MY belief, anyway

well i was a baptist up until i was about 12-13 and i was hardcore too, like mission trips and wedsday 4-9 at church after school but then i had these things come to me.these things seemed to DIRECTLY CONTRADICT what church and religion had both hand fed me for the last 6 years. do you know what these things were? most common among them were just silly stupid things like questions or thoughts oh and who can forget this idiotic thing LOGIC. so i asked questions then got told i was a "bad kid/christian" or that is was a "sin" to ask those kinds of questions or (and i love this one) "you need to be baptized again" so sure enough i gtfo of that place and found answers myself. As of this very second im leaning towards totally dropping religion all together and waving the atheist flag or wetf they do but i have a few more things to get answered. one of the biggest is "well if ghosts exist doesnt that mean that spiritual afterlife is possible? and EVP has started to catch my attention. i dont fully believe in either of them becaus ei havent seen or heard them for myself and i hope i never do but right now im kind of a "yea there might be a god but the bible is a load" stage myself.

(that wasnt meant to flame anthoer religion that was just my religios timeline in a nutshell =D)

I guess i might as well state my religion or lack there of. Ive been in a catholic education system since Kindergarten and i have been spoon fed all this bible junk (no offense by this, just what i refer to it as) for about 12 years now and for some reason i never eccepted it. I always thought that it was a boring and dull religion and i always got in trouble for asking questions. The only thing that actually ticks me off about going to a catholic school is that all my theology (study of god) teachers are cocky arse holes who think that they are never wrong and well *pulls out microphone* THEY ARE WRONG!!! What i beleive is that there is some greater force than us out there and that as long as we do what we think is right or ok we will live happily somewhere after we die.

I agree with all you say Darfin tbh but I have an answer... People need to believe in something greater than themselves, its the constant striving thought that keeps us thinking this isnt all there is to life theres a power greater than us. Also its a way of dealing with death if you believe theres something after death then it loses its sting somewhat.... and as the saying goes if you believe something strong enough it makes it true :)

I agree with what you say

I do have my faiths and beliefs

Problem I find is... religion and differences in beliefs seems responsible for more killings than anything else

Some people put religion in bad light. Not that I know much about the religion that 'terrorists' follow, or the ones that promote 'absolute 100% devotion to our God, so give us your soul and all your money'.

In general, I'd dare say it's not the religion that incite killings and wars, but rather the individuals' lack of empathy and tolerance towards anything alien to their existence (ie intolerance). Doesn't mean humans are stupid, just that the stupid ones make the biggest fuss.

I'm with fluffy 95% of religions promote peace and forgiveness of other both in the religions and not. It is however the people who misunderstand thier religion or the message in even one passage that can provoke violence. I hate to use this as a referrence and I do not mean to offend anyone by this but.. Nazism was technically a religion viewed only by Nazis and again a bad view of religion, they thought they were doing God's will. I'm not knocking on any religion, infact I am Catholic I go to church i go to confession but I will never tell someone that thier religion is wrong, I cannot. Who is to say who is right and who is wrong? Noone alive on this planet has that knowledge. I have not read your explanation of your religion yet Cheese because my head is pulsating and i have to go to a meeting in... 4 hours keep in mind it's about 2:40 am and I have not slept for 2 days so please forgive me fot not completely reading it yet.

I'll get to it tomarrow but seems very interesting.

Im not saying religion itself incites the reason to war but provides the pedastal to conflict. Again that can be interpreted to inciting I never meant that..

I just meant as a result of that people take it to their extreme levels.

As a result relgious conflict whether incited or not has happened throughout 1000s of years in Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism.

I havent studied all relgions to know the boarder lines and approaches to other religons such as Hindus vs Sikh or especially Sikh vs Islam (since they hate each other.. even over here in England).

I do have a faith I am Christian Church of England.

I should have made myself clearer

I see this has gotten some attention. And I'd love to talk to anyone about religions. I want to go to school to be a history teacher, but I thought about maybe while doing that go to Yale Divinity school(if I could ever afford it lol) and possibly becoming a religious professor. And those of you, thats fine that you didn't read it lol, I assumed quite a few wouldn't due to its longness meh lol.
