I thought it would be nice if we could have a controlled event for clan nights and such so Ive came up with the "Zombies Reborn" map mod. (nobody has to download anything, server will handle it).

Pretty much, zombies come in waves, you kill them or they eat you. Simple huh? (not sure about the game rules yet, you can add your ideas to help out :o)

So far I've made some good progress on the map-mod such as npc control and added 1 zombie.

Id like some constructive feedback and anything you'd like added like the two zombies and weapons and the map, remember this is for you! :) . I'd prefer that the map is one that is not currently used on KR1.

All skins and effect modifications will not be required to play as to avoid some fps cutbacks (or in other words, no download is required by the client).

zab maybe you can make a time limit on how often they fire or lessen the damage taken from the zombies lol but looks awesome cant wait to try it out. if you want or need help testing it out just let me know:P

A double post is in order:

Updated my first post.

I've finalized on the three zombies to be used: Jawa, Rosh, and Rax (who doesnt love killing Rosh? (re-killing in this case..)).

I think I'll just use siege/desert since it has a great open area and plenty of running for your life room.

Wave List:
Wave 1 - Zombie Jawas
Wave 2 - Zombie Rosh's and Jawas
Wave 3 - Zombie Rosh's , Jawas, and Raxs (will add fewer Raxs to avoid lag and impossible difficulty..)
Wave 4 - Boss level. (a giant kyle perhaps?)

So whatcha think about weapons?
Start off in Wave 1 with blaster pistol or blaster rifle
Intermission gain electro magnetic pulse gun thing
Intermission2 gain Fletchette shotgun thing
Intermission3 (waiting for boss lvl) I'll add in a little surprise =)

Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

Maybe for a boss round, I know it's cliche but a zombie rancor? I mean it'd be funny to fight a giant zombie Kyle though. Wouldn't be hard to make a skin for either of them. I think I like giant Kyle zombie better :P


And some ideas for other future zombies if you decide to add variance:

Level 1:
Ugnaughts

Level 2:
Rodians (would make really creepy zombies)
Weequay's (already look really creepy)

Level 3:
Tavion (Give her a lightsaber and lower her speed/damage)

Hey guys heres an updated demo for you! New demo

It features:

Advanced NPC control
Wave System management
Safe Room
Red Crystals (health)
Blue Crystals (ammo and small shield pack giver -- not implemented yet)
Rax, rosh, and jawa zombies


Had to change all the zombies to jedis since they wont chase you with guns. If you noticed, the rosh zombie walks around in a circle if your are not close to him. That means I need to update his visrange and probably the other two zombies as well.

Sorry if the demo seemed rushed, was going to be late for my dinner date =P.

Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

Update:
Made one wave button that controls all waves (instead of the four seen in the demo), nifty.
Added the blue crystals functionality (gives guns, and small shield pack)
Once again changed how the NPC fights. This time I gave it melee, thought sabers were annoying (probs have to give the player lower powered weapons and boost the NPCs health to make up for saber loss).

Final demo should be out tomorrow, until then - ciao.

the demo video looks insanely difficult. I mean you only had 3 zombies and we're getting completely destroyed. I dunno if you've changed anything since then, but I would maybe change their damage that they do or rate of fire, and maybe even the speed of the projectile. Just my thoughts

Keep in mind that there will be more of us trying to slaughter those zombies when it's working.

Pretty much done, just deciding what I want to do with the NPCs (merc 'em or give sabers). So yea, it'll be done by then =p

Thanks to all that tested :)

Last items on the shopping list:
Remove saber from player's aresenal without g_weapondisable 8 (think i know how, will try it later)
And fix rancor gate. May need to change it to a tele as requested by manda.

EDIT:

Fixed it to where now when you press the green button in the safe room, you tele out and your saber is removed. :)

Updates:

Added a few half eaten tauntauns.
VSTR commands are no longer needed.
Added thunder sounds for ambience (from base jka, client does not download). Best used with !weather rain :P
Map reloads itself after boss is defeated.
Added a night sky img to the client package (replaces ffa3's and siege/deserts sky).

Game rules (not that you really need rules for a zombie game):

Four Players go against Zombies in 4 Waves, armed with only Blaster Rifles, the Disruptor Rifle, and the Fletchette. Upon completting the third wave, the survivors gain lightsabers.
The two players with the lowest scores at the end of the 4 waves do not advance to a next round and are replaced with others that are waiting

The red cystal is for health, and the blue is for ammo.
