have all the ones on your site been taken off? coz they dont work for me :(

 #79766  by jawfin

No, they are still all there and should all work. I've put Solitaire on my own server for another person who said they couldn't see it on the market, you can get that from http://www.egonomics.com/android/sol3d.apk

Doing a search for "jonathan barton" in the market should work too.

I have a motorola cliq xt - bottom end of the food chain - it can't be updated past 1.5 (hardware limitations) so i'm sticking with its installed ROM. I have rooted it though with psneuter/ratc and used adb to uninstall all the junk that came with it.

Not really on topic, but I lol'd

Ironically, I get it the other way - stupid people posting 1 star on my App complaining about the lack of a feature that it actually has. Did I mention I despise stupid people?!??

You're magnetic to idiocy :P

Also, it's the internet. There's no age or IQ limit to who can use it :P

There is an IQ limit, those not smart enough to use it at all are the threshold

I do for any new work I do, like for the "What's New".
Last time I paid people to do it at http://www.onehourtranslation.com/
Its for Spanish and French currently, with no desire to expand - putting features in that I cannot do myself, is, painful.

Not really on topic, but I found this email exchange funny enough to post here. It appears one of my "users" has a problem with this game - at least I think that's what it is about as his email is titled "Sim".

Jonathan wrote:You make a very strong point, thank you for sharing.
Is it possible you could perhaps elaborate a bit further? Inquiring minds want to know.

Cheers Jonathan :)
Mad Poo wrote:Well I mean idiot that you should make an app that people can actually play
Jonathan wrote:It is difficult for us idiots to make good apps, perhaps if geniuses like your good self got into the field you could really change all of that for us. Perhaps in the meanwhile you could try playing this https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... n.sol3dtab which is written for the less intellectually gifted amongst us.

As you have no inhibition in expressing your opinion Mad Poo, I would at least like to hear it.

Cheers Jonathan :)
Mad Poo wrote:I am not playing anything made by you if you dare give me a wrong app again I will sue and destroy your app socially
Jonathan wrote:I am not sure what you are looking for. I am an independent developer who has written a few apps for the Android phone. It appears you are somehow referring to my game called Sim - your English is hard to follow so I am not sure about that. Sim, the game I wrote, is not a simulator where you can control little people, which I also suspect is what you think it is. It is a math puzzle which requires considerable thought. If you are looking for a virtual world simulator I suggest to actually read the information about the app before you download and play it. My description clearly states "There are 6 points placed at each corner of a regular hexagon. Your goal is to draw a colored line between the points but without forming a triangle of your own color" and so on; to mistake that for anything else can only be your own fault.

As far as simulators go I like My Country, but as our tastes differ so much I would suspect you may not like it.

I hope you find what you are looking for, as it evidently is not here.
Good day.
Mad Poo wrote:U need to watch your mouth little boy I aint a player and make an app that can move or else is that english for you
Jonathan wrote:At times I got concerned about fulfilling the needs of my users - and at times I felt they had unrealistic expectations of what I could do. I felt a reasonable person could not possibly attempt to make demands or threats that could neither be met by myself or fulfilled by them. This concerned me. Until recently a friend of mine pointed out that the lowest IQ of any Internet user is such that all they need be able to do is press a power button, which is the equivalent of a trained monkey. Since then it occurred to me that in reference to smart phones, its the actual phone that is smart - no comment is made about the user.

What you are so politely asking me to do is beyond my capacity and resources. You are now left to your own devices to search the Android market to find the fulfillment of your desires. There are 500,000 apps there currently, I would hope in that lot you will find a developer who has written just what it is you are looking for.

Happy hunting.

I don't know as I have been cowering under my bed for the last 11 hours. I think I heard a knock at the door and the phone range several times, but for now I am safe....

I'm just posting on my thread again to remind anyone who's had the intelligence to get themselves an Android phone to further display such intelligence and get my games :D

My latest improvements to my Solitaire 3D game is you can blow up the cards once you've won, and online high scores & leaderboard.

Here's some clever technology.
Some boffins have created an Android emulator which runs through a webpage.
This is cool!

Updates to 3 of my apps, all of these can now play multiplayer: -

Dots and Dashes
Sim
and
Snap

They all use this app called Playrock to find people to play with and that also drives the technology allows my single player apps to be changed to allow multiplayer (smart programmers right there!).
