I see what you are saying and fair enough and each to their own, I think RPG playing especially is a personal thing.
For me RPG is my fav genre just like many of you.
In DA they are creating additional content (although annoyingly you have to earn ot pay for it) and there are expansion packs coming for it
For a successful great SP experience I think there has to be some degree of linear involved in it.
Alot of Biowares games have been based around making a strong personal story which is why they been a hit.
HOWEVER in DA I think it is quite well done, because I think this is a game where you can really benefit from replaying several times. Admittedly it isn’t an Oblivion open world though but it’s not a similar game to oblivion.
If you remove some of that you are in danger of becoming like a MMO setup like GW or WoW where by Comparison you have a much bigger freedom but I think you pay the price in a hollower storey. Which is why I am not sure Bioware will pull off the MMO in the same light as KOTOR. I hope I am wrong. I play GWs all the way through the first one did keep me entertained but after the main storey finished I got bored fast with “farming” etc with arrogant bad attitude players. And the storey wasn’t gripping, Cannot say I played wow to a mass
However I also see your point, Mass Effect was incredibly linear I felt. That Said I will still enjoy the sequel.
