So yeah, here I am sitting on KR1 under one of my alias's talking to some people on the server. I happen to call darth vader (a fictional character mind you) a dumbass for getting the death star blown up....twice. When I get yelled at by your lovely chaostrain for "using vulgar language" (calling a fictional character a dumbass.) Shortly after one of the people on the server called me Major Dork (my name was major e rekchun) so i corrected him by saying "it's major e you ass" only to get silenced by chaostrain.

Now unless the rules have DRASTICALLY changed sense I left the clan saying the word "ass" on the server is not a violation of any of KR's rules especially considering the word filter did not pick it up and myself along with about 90% of the active clan when i was a member said it all the time and worse in public chat.

But anyway what you, and whoever else was either with you or just happened to be being punished at the same time, were saying to choastrain was flaming.

I'm sorry Kioshi, I'm seriously not playing favorites, but on this incident you are wrong.

But now you have me wondering...Why are you purposefully pushing admins when you already know the rules anyway?

I wasnt trying to push admins i was trying to have a good time and relax.

and I didn't start actually being an ass to him until after he had already silenced me, If you were there you would know that. Feel free to check the logs if you don't believe me. I did no flaming until after being unjustly silenced.

You and the other one were warned twice about speaking about vulgar things and flaming, which you ignored those warnings but then you go and flame an admin by calling him an "ass?"

Honestly Kioshi, and I don't mean this as attacking, what did you expect?

I would have silenced you.

And all you had to say to Chaos was that sure you slipped up and you'd agree to follow the rules from now on. He would have then unsilenced you.

But you kept pushing...and that I do not understand.

like i said read the logs. i didn't call chaos an ass. my ass comment was directed towards that denostein guy or whatever his name is. he called me major dork to which i responded, "its major e you ass" that is when i was silenced and i talked to him about the silence through my name before i did anything that could even remotely be considered flaming to chaos.

even then the only "flaming" i did was telling people they would get silenced for saying things like shut up and such. and saying that chaos was worse then mr. fish.

also i asked him before i called deno an ass exactly what i said that was so vulgar so i knew not to say it to which i never got a response from chaos.

maybe you should go through and reread the logs so you can get your stuff straight.

Kioshi, flaming is against the rules whether you do it to an admin or not.

I honestly thought you were directing that at Chaos, but does it really matter anyway? You're still breaking the rule. A rule you were warned about twice before you broke it again.

Kioshi, you know my goal here is to not pick sides. I only say what I think is right, and I'm not afraid to be wrong. I also would have you on the KR server with or without your name. But I don't know why you feel you have to hide your name (if that is what your doing).

No one in KR should be holding a grudge against you. There is no legit reason for it. None that I am aware of anyway. And I still very much so consider you a friend.

But an admin complaint about being silenced...being silenced is like admin-lite, diet admin if you will. It is the weakest power an admin could do to another player and the furthest thing from the term "abuse"

Capslocking "admin abuse" seconds after being silenced is kinda ridicules. The term "admin abuse" is being thrown around so much now that I'm even getting called out for "admin abuse" for just signing into admin. (The player thought I was lighting them even though they were not getting shocked or losing any HP)

Being silenced is not abuse. Being silenced for more than 10 minutes would be abuse. Being silenced after you have apologized and agreed to follow the rules is abuse.

However, being "abused" from just being silenced...I find it a bit far fetched.

The admin usage of this nature doesn't really need to be brought into the spotlight like this, on this forum...you should have just sent me a PM (or another Council member) and we would have taken care of it.

Because at the most, if Chaos was in the wrong on this, it would have been a slap on the wrist punishment for him. It would have been us telling Chaos to think twice and make sure the person he was silencing was indeed breaking the rules and that the player was properly warned.

Basically a reminder. Nothing worth bringing everyone's attention to.

Pandy, obviously Council is handling it themselves. Whether "ass" is or isn't a curse isn't so much in debate as the reaction to it. Rav and Jaw have already said their peace, and Chaos was only trying to be a good admin, not an abusive one, even if it was misguided.

This really isn't that big of an issue, and isn't that complicated.

An/any insult is flaming. That's what flaming is. An insult. If you cant call your teacher/principle/boss an "ass" to their face then why would the insult be ok on the KR server?

Also the word filter has nothing to do with it. Just because a word is not in there doesn't mean we allow it. We just haven't thought to add it in yet and rely on admins to control the language.

Sidenote: some words are not in the filter like "jerk". Because you can use the word jerk on the server like:
"My teacher was such a jerk today"
That's fine.

This however is not fine:
"You're such a jerk (insert name here)"
That's a flame, therefore not allowed.
