Since the girls have ion the past always gone on about star wars KNights of the old republic I gaeve it a try a few months ago.

Since then I appreicate hwo unsociable it really is...

I have heard alot of references to this game.. does anyone know as say a liker of the star wars game whether this would be desireable?

I understand some of the fighting is more interactive which I suppose is good.. Does it captivate you??

I really like it, and Knights of the Old Republic 2 is even better. The combat is medium, but the story line is good.

If you liked star wars and KotOR then you will love Mass Effect... The fights and story are both awesome... There's about 6 different ways to play through the game (and thats just the classes) there's two major endings and an infinite number of ways to get there.... I would like to suggest getting this game....

kotor 1 and 2 were really good...
i played them many times over...
but mass effect is just as good...
the story in kotor is much better then mass effect.
but i love the fighting in mass effect...
if they make a game with the length and a story as good as kotor and the fighting system in mass effect..
i may just warship it

KOTOR 3 might be a MMO.... Bioware is making an MMO (they made kotor 1, I think, and mass effect) so you guys think that would be a good or bad thing?

I think KOTOR did well because it was a story,, which was all about you as teh SP.. and you could interact and change the events how you wanted to..

I dunno I think a MMO woudl take that away from KOTOR...

Star wars galaxies failed... they ruined it so they might try another one... plus its not made by the same people

I dunno, I think the in depth story of KOTOR made is why it was so successful..

Having that taken away and replaced with some spoilt brat who thinks shouting nooob and pwn thinking they look cool doesnt fill me with joy!

MMOs have huge story lines behind them (most of them anyway)... You just have to open your eyes... and block every noob spamming "CHEATER" or "NOOB".... Take WoW for instance. They have tie-ins between all the games and both the horde and alliance... But most people just skip past that... they don't read anything or try to explore... they just go on mindlessly, which I think completely ruins a big part of gaming, the story that pulls you in like a book you just can't put down... Most of you should know what I'm talking about... if not... then you're just in it for the mindless killing >_>

See what you mean... I find the MMO storylines difficult to get into..

Whereas KOTOR the whole thing was sort of made the way you wanted it to be, with an online expereince it probably would not work like that.. who knows..

Oblivion and KOTOR games did so well on SP level

If they had been online it would ahev taken away their charm, decentralised the personal focus..

Being able to ignore idiots doesnt make it any better, the story will be generic and in comparison to KOTOR style will be lame..

Several hours in I think ME is very very good

some areas I think KOTOR is alot better in but othersd ME is better in.. but ME isnt star wars. I am lovin it though. no more or less than KOTOR at the minute.

As some one said if KOTOR III takes the new grapics and cinematics from ME and the combat and adds it to a classic KOTOR it would be mind blowing.

Also ME is going to be around for a long time so looks liek we are in for a goof few years of great gaming!!

In KOTOR the main character dindt actually speak, I like how in mass effect he/she does speak and acts in a mannerism reflecting your choice of words..

There doesnt appear to be as much of a blend of storyline with each characters or crew like KOTOR but i suspect thats going to change.

I do wish I could control my crew better like in KOTOR though rather than just give them a vauge command.

I had some good sessions myself, kind of locked into it now.

Its different to KOTOR some areas bettr some areans not so good but since its in that same zone I love it!
