Ya, clapping doesn’t really serve a purpose anymore.
Interestingly enough though, what IS effective now is what sets humans apart from one another
...such as having weapons
Waving a knife or a gun around and the other humans in the area will react accordingly unless they too have a weapon.
See, nothing really has changed. What makes us "unique" in the situation still shows dominance.
People even go, “You see this gun?! It means I’m in charge now!”
Much like what we “said” back in the day when we just had our hands.

Huh, odd. I never clap when I'm trying to scare something. But by your theory, when were clapping for someone we're actually trying to scare them.

When i woke up this morning after reading this the night before it came to me that when a gun (certain ones anyway) fires it makes a crack that could sound like a very loud crack.... so that even now our modern "warning sign" is still close to the older one... just more dangerous.. and fun >=3

Not much other than that that scientists can do to prove it and tbh they need not bother do that, the results of these tests could be easily done by any member of the general public for them to see how the animals react.
Im not trying to rant at you but I fail to see how you could prove this with science really.
