PRELUDE
Background
After the fall Morgoth ending the first age of middle earth the Hybridirrum were created and protected after a special affair between a numenorean man and an elvish maiden. Their special affair had produced the most curious offspring of neither a man nor an elf but more of a mix between both. This affair could not be kept secret so in their turn they brought this issue to Gil-Galad the high-elven lord. Gil-Galad saw in them and knew that the offspring they carried would play a great role in the next two ages to come and with his blessing they were kept secret and safe.
For almost an age they flourished and multiplied with their children having unique abilities that were not considered magic by any means (considering the fact that it came to them naturally) but were though as (by those who knew of their existence) gifts. The most common among these were; the abilities to take on invisibility, slow and speed time in their eyes, very acute sight and hearing (surpassing that of a normal elf), retake a form( for a mere orc blade could not kill them),to almost seem to fly with their jumping abilities, supreme agility and strength, and a special ability to move without being heard or seen. Those were the most common traits but there were much more powerfull, lighter, and darker ones. Such as being a spirit master (this power was most threatening to the hybridirrum because they could stop the reformation of the body and end their spirit), a light bender ( The ability to wield light as a weapon), or a shadow master.
But then Sauron Morgoths servant launched his attack throwing middle earth into shadow…….
CHAPTER 1: THE FALL OF MINAS ITHIL
Esse(sunlight, for not only did he seem to give warmth and corage to those around him but they called him this because he was in which part of the fate of Middle-Earth was embedded) was fighting vailiantly on the mountain tops with the Gondorain knights doing their best to drive off the unending onslaught of orcs lead by none other than the fell nine( Nazgul or the black riders) in an unexpected with his long known comrade and friend Elrandir. It came unexpectedly and it took all of Esse’s skill to stay alive. However the numenorean knights were not so fortunate they were taking a heavy toll. In the end they retreated to Minas Ithil (which would later become known as Minas Morgul the ghost city). They were persued there and finally reached the gate with only half of the garrison left from the outpost. Then the siege started. For two days the numenorean soldiers fought for their lives cut off from the world and surrounded by Mordor’s armies. On the third day Esse left the walls for a short rest in the fith level which was safe from the constant barrage of trebuchet fire and hailing arrows. He found Elrandir sitting by himself in deep thought.
“Esse” he said without looking at him for there was something troubling him deeply, “come here my lad.” For though Esse had lived for one-hundred years he was still considered young ( you must remember that Hybridirrum were immortal). As Esse sat down Elrandir continued his speech, “Esse…. The air here is grim for you and me” He started, “I feel it in the air, the wind wispers it to me, and I feel it in my very bones.”
“What are you saying Elran?” spoke Esse quietly, “For even if this city falls, which I still hope it will not, we can still escape throught its pathetic ranks of orcs.”
“Esse, you are young still and you may yet escape but I feel my days here closing in on me. Now let me speak! Esse your father gave me this scroll before he went off on his last journey through fire and shadow which as you know he sacrificed himself so that the rest would escape. He said to keep it sealed, which you see it has, and give it to you when I could no longer protect you. Esse take it now and keep it safe and do not open it until you know I am dead. Promise me!”
“I swear my dear friend by the light of the valar.” Esse replied softly.
“Esse you have been a good student and a better friend through these years….” Elrandir was cut short when a deafening blast came from the lower levels and guars came running in shouting that the gate was breached. He ran
through the lower levels losing track of Elrandir. He was fortunantly armed in his black garb and armor (for he had the potential of a special gift which the elder never told him). Then all at once drawing his blade Hadhadfing which was glittering with a blue flame charged straight into a oncoming wall of orc with the Gondorians driving them back with the skill only the Hybridirrum had (but the men of gondor did not know this they thought he was merely an elf). Esse had cleared a gap in their line and the orcs fell back in fear. Then a deafenng shriek came and made Esse halt. Then out of the line came the nine. Their leader, the witch king of Angmar in front drew a blade surrounded in a red flame. On it Esse read the runes of death and his blood froze where he stood. The runes of death on a blead brought death to any Hybridirrum warrior. Then the eight behind strode forward wielding their morgul blades in hopes of turning him into a lesser wraith like himself. Esse strode forward and greeted the eight with is blade. He had drove them back when the Witch King strode forward.
Esse haulted and fear took him because he knew he was outmatched. Then Elrandir came of the top of the wall and struck the blade of the Witch King and turned a deadly thrust aimed for Esse. Elrandir fought vailiantly but hopelessly for he had forseen his doom. Then the Witch King prevailed. His blade thrust into Elrandir’s side and turned widening the hole. Esse cried his name and ran forward turning the eight back. But Elrandir with his dieng breath said run in a such a soft voice only Esse and the 9 could hear. With tears in his eyes he ran the other way out of the city and was confronted with Galdrig the orc chieftan whom had slain many elves.
“Come here you elvish waste!” Galdrig cried. Then Esse turned to face his last opponent.
“Elrandir protect me,” he said in a soft voice, then he turned and cried , “O Elbereth, Gilthoniel! Aiya elenion ancalima!”
Esse charged and with his first stroke cut off Galdrig’s hand and the next sent his hideous head flying. With that the orcs fell back for a moment and Esse took up invisibility and ran through the bewildered ranks fighting back tears and into the vale outside and wept bitterly in the brush. Esse was one of the few survivors of Minas Ithil, but his task was not done there. His rode would be long and bitter then making way for his son their family would be one of the greatest amung the Hybridirrum………..
