i dont know if any of you have heard of this but its a software u download. this software is free and is here to try and help save ppl. its a program that folds protiens in order to help scientist understand cancer and other diseases. usually scientists would use a super computer which is a whole bunch of smaller slower computer hoocked together by fast networking but these slow computer are almost 5 times slower than the average pc. so this project brings ppl from all across the world to use our computers and our fast networking to help solve these problems. the best part is that u dont need to do anything all u do is install the program and run it and ur set. it will automatically send the info to the scientists. so plz sign up as me and some of my friends have and brother have ^.^. also my bro made a team the team number is 92463

also if u dont understand wat i sed it basically explains it there so yeah XP.

its a pro gram that folds protiens. in doing it, it can help us understand and solve hot to treat and prevent cancer. its a progrom that uses ur comp because its faster the comps they would use in a supercomputer.

so by setting it up to volunteers around the world cuz our comps are faster it basically treats our computer and fast networking as a worldwide super computer to help understand protien folding.

there are no viruses since this project comes from a bunch of ppl who worked at stanford university(which is a very well educated university)

ive also heard of that one aswell pho. although im not a high believer in it.

I have one. It uses a bit of your computer to scan a segmant of a picture of the stars and stuff. Basically scientists dont have the computer power to scan all of these pictures for life, anomalies etc. So they have hundreds of thousands of peoples computers all accross the world to do it.

When you go afk or leave your comp on during the night you switch it on and it uses your computer to do its work.

Although this is a widely known project and is 100% ligit.

I wouldn't trust this one unless i knew more about it.

I'm with you :) I've heard of Seti@Home. A few of our techs at school use it.

I like the idea of curing cancer, however i dont like the idea of having to dwnload a program that im not entirely familiar with. Sure people at standford are smart, but that doesnt mean their invulnerable to a virus.

These things install bots though

This can also be a security risk. There is hacking potential there.

I wouldn't install it

JESUS CHRIST GUYS!!!

Do any of you actually browse the internet?
If so you would know that folding@home is completly safe, legit and popular. The magazine Maximum PC has a team for F@H just like almost every other site.

Use it, it's great.

.

A little bit more than you it seems.. the point is not for its cause but for its implications... The site in question has had bot issues which could be compromising.

Thats right its the client I take issue with, not the principle of the task. Since there is a security risk, especially on this laptop for example, baring in mind its local admin, credentials for network admin. remote PC DUO clinets to all network servers.

VPN from other connections.
