GOW was good on Xbox although PC version shoudl be better

however Crysis with DX10 graphics (which may be an option to me soon) looks amazing..

anyone got any ideas or suggestions

crysis FTW im going to be getting my geared out PC in like 2 weeks or so im gonna be able to run crysis highest settings im not a fan of GOW i played farcry back in teh day was a good game just 16 man servers was the bad thing but now its gonna be 64 man servers now so ya that game is gonna be elite the gameplay for the game is just alsome ive played the beta its liek a mix of Css BF2 and C&C renegade combined so imo best game out to be so far prob gonna be playing this for awhile when it comes out

Ill probably opt for Crysis. it looks really good teh demo is good.. PC just been kitted out Minus Graphics card which we will get soon anyway

You will need to get a decent card upgrade for Crysis.. Since teh Mac doesnt generally come with a decent graphics card/ chip... although you can get them... they are very pricey... you might want to consider a 3rd party vendor..

Although you likeley will not get DX10 quality on the Mac.. That is unfortunateley Vista only atm.

I run a few Windows emulators (E.G. - Boot Camp, Parallels, et cetera). Give me a chance to do the things I can't do on the Mac, such as gaming.

I have a good graphics card (from what I'm aware of ). I'll need to get the Demo before I buy the game to see if it's worth an upgrade if I need one. Ha-ha.

I had no intention of playing the game on full blast. As much as I'd like to, I'll have to settle to crappy videos on YouTube for the best quality.

(P.S. - If I get Gears of War, then it will be my computers bee-otch. That's for sure. It's only Crysis I'm worried about. LOL! )

I think the basic specs are like 7300 from NVIDIA.. even still I think they dont support the 8 series..

You might wanna forget about Crysis unless you willing to spend alot of money or play it on extremeely low spec but it does really take the edge of the game.


GoW might be better suited for mac assuming it is going to be lower spec

Yup at the minute I got a Core Duo E6650 1333FSB

2GB OZ RAM
Vista ultimate
all the rest

But at the minute only on 6800GT Was gonna wait and save up after Xmas for one ... i thought id wait until DX 10 was going to be a bit more developed


ALthough 8600 GT you should be able to play Crysis on medium settings

I think even 8800GT Ultras cannot play on high without low FPS.

7300GT is default on a Mac, forget it on that card, it wont be worth it... you can upgrade to ATI X1900 it seems ... for $250!!

again you might just about get that on medium settinsg but on emulation... its probably not worth it..

I thank you two for your advice, and as I said...I'll try the demo of Crysis before I buy anything. I've already played and love Gears of War (plus know it will run), so I'll stick to that.

nah highest the settings can get at least on the beta prob not much of a difference

strange most people i know with like 880 Ultras have been saying even on higest its okay but the fps is too big of a hit to take so they drop it.. then again what res / AA you got on?

For teh mac i dont think its a Software issue at all, they just dont physically have the cards availabel for the latest gear.. doesnt matter how much you spend the only cards you have avilable are not going to give the best gaming expereince.. If Apple decide they want to make more of the gaming market they will seek to recify this .. hopefully at a reasonable price as they need to recify that..
