Although arrogant at sometimes, I have some brains in this meat-sack that I call a body.

My Mac is probably more protected than Bill Gate's PC. LOL! Not really, but it's pretty dang safe. My 'comment' () was for me and me alone. I'm not saying that others shouldn't have to worry, nor was ever trying. I'm sorry if you got that vibe off of me.

If you want to 'inform' me some more, though, I'm free for the rest of the evening.

By all means take your chances, but just don't come running when that comment bites you in the ass. Choosing to ignore fact is ignorance.

My post was mearly to make you aware of the facts. Using a little bit of cautiousness doesn't go amiss and it will save you alot of trouble in the long run. It just annoys me when I see comments like "I can't get viruses" and "I'll take my chances" because for one, it shows your naivety and secondly it's people with these sorts of attitudes that virus authors target.

Yes, but thats exactly my point. You didn't say "i'm least likely to get any viruses" you said "I can't get viruses" . Anyway- all i'm asking is you be a little bit more cautious when opening emails and file attachements because in the long run it will save you alot of trouble. Also "10 years" is a little ambitious, I very much doubt it will take that long considering they are well on the way to creating AI viruses.

In my expereince heavy Mac users / fans are ver sensitive and get very precious about all things apple..

When you question or show any opposition even with credit they tend to get very upset, they would rather bitch about Linux and Microsoft than just get on with it.. Also Aanything apple do equally as bad is raised with applause.. Its almost religious like..

Take a look at Melissas thread of a PC problem she was having, somone posted get a mac, she stated teh reasons why a mac woudl be useless.

1) she uses it for her work aswell, macs dont work well on windows networks and are not very good in that enviromnet full stop.

2) she plays games which woudl be limited

3) uses the hardwaare she wants

4) she didnt mention this but she will be using CAD on this aswell, just fopr minor stuff but its a weakness.

Nothing wrong with the Mac just not good in those areas.. but she says that and the poster got precious.

I understand completely what you've said. 100%, ALL OF IT, et cetera. I was trying to explain to you that it probably won't effect me. I felt as though I needed to carry on to help show that to you, but it seems I'm not the only one that can't get things through their skull.

im not smug at all, i know there are viruses out there for macs, im not opening every email i get, bc i know i can still get key loggers and shit, im very cautious(seeing as tho 2 comps of mine, windows, have died due to viruses. I am however, allot more confident in my safety with macs than i am withy windows, especially since every week theres an update for security(exaggeration). but again, i am still very aware of the danger

the sole reason why i own a mac is bc im a musician, and macs, imo, are better suited to furfill my needs. Also, im not the biggest PC gamer in the world, so i dun care how many games i can get. there also much beter designed, again, imo, then dells or toshibas or w.e you use

i myself use a macbook, very sleek, well designed, powerfull and fast. i find that if i were to purchase a desktop, i would deffinetly be on board with PCs
