Hello Everyone...
Strange, that today morning when i turned on my computer and typed my password on my windows ( We have 2 windows at one computer ) , it showed me : Starting windows in invidual.... It started windows, all icons, all programs, everything is gone, the desktop completly different.. I musted download all and make all setting back as i had... Then i have some font problem, at font size 9-12 i see it very very ugly... I wish i could somehow take my windows to my previous system, i hope it is still alife somewhere between my folders ='( . Does anyone here has any idea how i can fix it?

Does the Vista/Xp title have anthing to do with it?

Go START | ACCESSORIES | SYSTEK TOOLS | system restore and locate an earlier restore point.

Do any other users have any problems?

Does everything actually work? I mean can you restore the settings appearance.

Trying to start of on the simpler options first before delving too deep.

I tried system restore, it tells me that it cannot be done.. When i wrote Vista/Xp.. Because windows look totaly as Vista, the windows selection, desktop, start menu etc, every single window, control panel , but options are from XP windows and in system information i have : Windows XP Proffesional... I reinstalled much programs, but the font problem and lost of so much needed files i had on desktop makes me angry... Any other way how to get to an earlier windows?

So I think what you mean is , its XP just got some vista skin theme look alike..

well you could try a really old retore...

alternatively you will need to have a backup.

try changing back to a default theme for XP first and check the font sizes and such are the correct size..

It makes no sense that your computer would dramatically change like this unless something bad has taken place like a virus or something or a backdoor thing has been planted.

Can you set teh same resolution on the screen? i.e 1024 x 768 or 1280x1024

I can take the correct resolution ( 1280x1024 ) and the skin.. But almost all fonts looks alot like washed in font size from 6 to 12... Well, it is very possible some error appeared in windows, because everything is like i just installed new windows, all programs need to configure again and about it =S

Ya know ... I wonder if your profile got corrupt /deleted and it has given you a default profile... that sounds fitting to the bill

as for the fonts

if you go in your display and then settings then advanced check the font size is 100% also in APPERANCE check the font size is normal..

if not do a screen shot just so I know what it looks like

Well.. When i was looking throw my system settings, i found section : Profiles, i clicked on it, on the new window of profiles i found my mother's profile, my profile i use now and my old profile... Is there some way to get back my profile, if system shows me my old one in control panel->system->profiles?
I would be very thanked to everyone who knows it, as i have no idea how to fix it and last hope are you all here on forums.

can you not go control panel \ systems \ advanced you can see a user profile button click and change to previous one.

Although it may have just became corrupt you never know

Thanks a million! Tried it... Well, it just gave me back the things i had on my desktop ( This is great )... Most of the games laggs much =S Will need to look about setting. Then, if i set up setting right, it shall not lag while playing JKA, so i will be able to play again ^^

My big apologies for asking again... Would like to ask if you Chantelle or Mellisa have any idea, what can freeze computer... When i had my profile ( before it corrupted ) , JKA did very well, without huge laggs, windows was very fast... But after it corrupted and now when it is just on 3/4 back ( Still the font problem and some system files ) , now whole windows freezes alot and in JKA i feel like going through large ice barrier... Possibly it is maybe of my graphic card ( ATI Radeon X600 Pro ) or some display setting... I checked by Ctrl+Alt+Delete my RAM use, it is just like everytime normally ( Then maybe it is of RAM, as i have it just 512MB , because my next 512MB RAM [ Together they did 1.024G RAM ] is burnt after i was doing alot of Graphic stuff and messing with very large games )... Any ideas what i shall do to fix the freezing and lagging on my computer ? ( I will be very very thanked to you both, because i have a request from a friend to make a web page for his guild, then i alot of requests on signatures from friends, so i am very needing in fast windows work .. Then, i want to get back to JKA, but it is impossible to enjoy the game, when it laggs as hell ).

if it worked fine before... then i doubt it would be like your card causing slow down

512 RAM is still fine for what you use, JA on XP hardly needs that 128 min

Sirion may I suggest can you give a screen shot of the picture you get with the font problems ... ALSO with your control ALT delet performance showing your memory might help (well help chantelle not so much me lol)

have you tried to reinstall graphics driver

Actually its a good idea...

to see what you see might help see what we think could cause the problem..

since the problem you get is visual display and lagg then first thoughts point to Graphics card..

1) Driver , first and foremost option

2) do you have another card to test. I mean you say something burnt out it could well be that the card has burnt out

3) of course if we think its a software issue , then maybe hopefully a repair windows installation might help.

Well if I were you Sirion, I think it would probably be best first as Chan suggested to reinstall windows. Back up all the files you need then repair the windows installation. You don't have to back up the files, but I would recommend it as a procaution. Secondly if repairing the windows installation solves the problems it then might be an idea to get another 512mb stick of ram, because I am sure you will notice the difference in performance, maybe not for JA, but you do alot of photoshop work and I am sure you will notice it then. I might be getting a little too far ahead, but thats what I would personally do. But as you know, Chan is far more computer literate then myself, so her advice should be sound.

Thank you alot for suggest.. Problem is that i cannot reinstal windows. We have 2 sections on windows : Mine and mother's... i cannot reinstal windows, because then my mother will gain alot of work things again etc... I am going on break outside today for a week ( My parents send me to some pension,because last time i am strangely all the time very tired with headache ). I think i will firstl buy by my money a new RAM and reinstall driver, if it doesnt help... I am afraid it can mean i wont be able to play JKA till the day when my mother will go for months to Russia =S . Thank you a milion! Hope i will fix it thanks to your advice.

The RAM I doubt would fix the problem..

reinstall windows by the way I never meant format.. just you can use the disk to reinstall and repair.. replenish the installation..
