Basically there is a side desk near me at work and off a shelf a bottle splashed over the desk.. kinda staned the desk but the room smells of WD40..

Any suggestions / ideas on how to get rid of it? I have tried sprays?

Its giving me a headache, and it spilled yesterday

no, I heard a rumour that the 40 stands for it took 40 times to actually make it, dunno what WD stands for...

any suggestions... someone said use a lighter and burn it :-s

if its teh side deesk taht runs all teh way around the office then you cant change that..

defumigate it... try spraying it with something open teh window and let it evaporate..

Your office is hot as it it anyway hopefully that shoudl help the process.

I borrowed a can of Lynx of a guy, nearly cained the lot.. Its settled down I think but when i return to tehe office after a while out I can smell it again.

if you can try oust or fabreze worth a try i cant rem what i norm used to get smell of wd40 away when i worked with it prob depended what was on have u tried polish etc also?

just try basic cleaning fluids and stuff like that and keep the window open, possibly try borrowing a fan if there arent any nearby windows, apart from that theres not much you can do until it leaves naturally

I have used washing up liquid on it and water and I have had my desk fan blowing on it most of the day..

its like MDF you see so its kinda soaked in a bit :s

well the only other thing i can suggest is to just like use some sort of air freshener that doesnt smell but it gets rid of the bad smell that is there, im sure you've seen the 'oust' advert on TV :P

Fairy Liquid left to soak wiped up.. still strong smell let it air and used Lynx
