He is going to do Jedi Academy next! This gives you a whole new perceptive idea of what can be done if they were to bring Outcast and Academy or another whole new level of Jedi PC game. We need to bring this back alive to the brink of existence. At least our server is still popular. Someone or I could go ahead and start a documentary and make wonderful Knights-Reborn footage for memories for ourselves and this one. Our server has been going stronger for more than 15 years or so.

We can still keep going on. I am pleased to see how the servers never died at all. We do need more new stuff! We need more people so we can have extra friends in the community enjoy the immersion of friendship and family with Star Wars.

I have the tools to edit and do an interview and send this video to Disney and let them look at it. I know everyone is VERY sketchy about wanting Disney to handle Star Wars but you need at least trust the crew who worked in this game in the past. I am sure there are still people remaining in Lucasarts working on digital technology and gaming design who have gotten involved with STAR WARS for years.

I would love to see LucasArts and Respawn Entertainment get involve or another developer. We can keep Quake but I wonder if they can go beyond adding Quake engine upgrades and make it look better than ever. I mean it is 2020. It can be the same but twice better?

We can have new stuff and better coordination. I love how parring the lightsaber is in Jedi Fallen. It makes me wonder we can coordinate these based moves into Jedi Academy PC gaming too? I do too like the original way too. We can use a little finesse

This is pretty awesome, I this done with Quake II and it's a welcome addition.

The short story is that it's an improved way for graphics engine to process lighting. It's "harder" to do than what is typically done and generates more detailed/complex reflections.

I like it a lot.

It has mostly to do with the lighting, the maps still look blocky, with low #s of planes or w/e they call them.
I think if they combine this with the high-res (1080p) texture mods that came out a few years back, it could REALLY step it up to modern day standards. As this vid shows, they just changed the lighting and the way the same old textures are lit, most noticeably, in the reflections. I think someone did a 4k re-texture AND reshade/raytracing of Quake3 in this way but I haven't seen it yet.

And what does it do to FPS on a normal computer without a video card?

@ Droid: you need to have a 4K display, and on YouTube hit the settings to 4K as well, then full screen it.

I think the word you're looking for is polygons? The re-texture doesn't change the polygons I don't think; it just changes the image that gets pasted on top of the polygons. In order add finer details with additional polygons takes a lot more work, I think.

There might be inherent engine limitations too. In a lot of old games that get remastered (I'm thinking Starcraft, or Quake 3 --> Quake Live) they add some more detail but not as much as would be standard in a modern game.
