So I realized that at some point I had set up T1_sour with bot routes, multiple spawn points, open/closed some doors, etc. Its not a map that would really be good for being in the rotation, but if enough people would be interested it could be a fun map to play around on from time to time.This is just a question, if there is interest then I would take the time to finish some minor touches to make it ready, or if there isn't interest then we can just forget I ever brought it up. :wink: So let your opinions be known!

I was getting excited because I thought this was a question about mapping, not rotation. Darn. Anyway, yes I would freaking love to play there so long as a main area was established where people could FFA easily and such

I had a go at this map a while ago. I wanted to open the doors between the outside sections so I could lock out the central chamber, and the rooms on the edges and just use the big open area. Unfortunately (as far as I could tell) this couldn't be done as the doors were fake and trying to remove them just put the void there (endless reflections). It could be done with telepoints through the doors as I feel the outside would work for a good FFA area. I would like to see this map used.

Ideally yes it would have been nice if all the doors were functional, but since a more linear plot was designed for the map instead of open so some compromises need to be done. As I have it set up now all the spawn points are in these two rooms:

Since these two rooms don't have giant ships in the middle of them they seem to have the best space that even if you have a FFA of 15+ there is still room to move around (at least in my opinion). They also have a fairly direct connection so even just running your only about 15-20 secs from each of the 2 rooms from any given spawn so hopefully even if your unfamiliar with the map you won't ever have trouble finding where people are at . Other wise I just opened up pretty much all the doors in the place so you can freely go to all the other rooms in the map. The only main exception is I locked the top of the observatory to give admins a nice place to admin rule breakers in peace. I could add tele's to the other two rooms, but I imagined that people would just grapple up to the top of the observatory and then down to whatever section they wanted to be in anyway so I don't know if its really that necessary or not. Either way that was what I was planning for the main layout unless someone has a better idea.

Yup. That was pretty much my thinking. If you like, and have the time, you can convert one or some of the outside rooms to an obstacle course - i.e. fill it with pushes and deathtraps and put the jetpack in an extremely evil place to get to!
