Hello all,
I have been having problems with my JKA, multiplayer and single player. When I open the game on multiplayer it loads up and goes to the lucasarts scene like normal. But when I click to skip the game freezes and does not load. If I do not click at all the lucasarts, activision and raven scenes play out and then it freezes on a black screen.

With the single player on the other hand, I open the game and it closes immediately and says "Z_free () : Corrupt zone header!" at the top of the console. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

First just to identify it's not your assets or settings we'll move them out and see what happens.
In your base folder move to somewhere else all .pk3 files which aren't assets?.pk3.
Rename jampconfig.cfg & jaconfig.cfg
Rename the japlus folder in the GameData directory.
If it still won't run then you'll have to uninstall & reinstall.
If it does run gradually reintroduce the assets and settings until you find which one is killing it.

I reinstalled and removed and renamed files but the multiplayer still freezes when I try to play. What should I do??!?!?!?

If it's something new (the game not running) try doing a System Restore - hopefully whatever is killing it will be rolled back - maybe the graphics driver (which, kind of, ironically, almost remotely means your thread could belong in the Graphics forum where you posted it..!).

I just did a system restore but it still did not work. Anything else I can try?

You could check you have the latest drivers with an app like Drive Booster.
A fresh install of OpenJK, or even the Steam version should do it.

It works now but the screen is black. It doesn't freeze or anything, the screen just goes black. What can I do to fix it???!?!?!?

It's just too vague to comment on. I'd suggest looking for a friend who can go to yours to look at it, hopefully someone who has an acquaintance with a Quake 3 engine based game.
