I belive in a lightsaber combat Mace Windu would kill darth Vader, but for Vader a rule is - there are no rules, so probably darth Vader would use his dark powers to win and Vader wins.

Mace. He's a better duelist, regarded as second to none apart from Yoda and equal to Count Dooku. While Vader was a master duelist in his own right, he couldn't hold a candle to Sidious like Mace can. No, Mace isn't on the same level as Sidious or Yoda, however we know he can contend at least for a while. Lucas even said "You had to be either Mace or Yoda to contend with Sidious."

Vader's only edge is his raw power, however I do not see this as being a deciding factor. Vader rarely ever decides to abuse his power, instead preferring to out-duel his opponent. It is entirely possible though that Vader will try to do so once he realises he's outclassed in dueling ability. In that case, I don't see him overwhelming Windu. Imo, Windu has shown comparable power to Vader, capable of crushing General Grevious (who tanked an attack that shook a planet, as well as tanked missiles point blank, will provide evidence if asked), force repulsing entire armies and collapsing bridges with a wave of his hand.





Conclusion: Mace's superior dueling abilities and comparable force power should enable him to get a solid victory.

I have always wondered this.
I think Mace and Vader would be close to an even match. Vader is an unstoppable Wall, and so is Mace. They have both customized their fighting styles to suit their personal circumstances.
I think Mace has the Saber edge, while Vader has the force edge, but again, it could go either way.

Im not so sure about it being a close match.. the nerdier part of me has always wondered who would win lol, but I would say the fight would be in favor of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader over Mace Windu. Not because he is a sith lord and Mace is a jedi, but because Vader has had more actual dueling experience in real fights compared to Windu. Windu was brought up during a relatively peaceful time when the Jedi remained unchallenged and the Sith were living in the shadows, the former being unaware of their existence. Mace is older yes and he has had a lot more practice but I think if I had to place money I would bet that Vader would win because he has more real world / practical experience (killing lots of jedi, younglings lol etc) in lightsaber combat. Just my two cents , lawls.

Very interesting point in the regard to raw power... I didn't consider that. I was simply referring in my own post to actual lightsaber skills. I still think Vader would win though because hes the chosen one.
