It was nothing you did, and I lifted the ban as soon as I saw it.

Your ISP assigned you a new IP, and it would seem the previous person who had it used it for criminal purposes.
Type it into here http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/ and you'll see how it was hosted as a proxy.
If you don't know your IP you can see it here http://www.getip.com/

As you IP was blacklisted by Internet watchdogs it got blocked on connection to the server.

It just happens from time to time, most residential housing that have internet service are given what's called Dynamic IPs. These IPs go into a "pool" of sorts when your service decides to refresh itself every 3 hours or so, or when you decide to restart your modem. During these brief moments, there's a chance that it'll pick an IP out of the "pool" that was used by someone else with malicious intent, in this case, the previous person in question that got the IP banned in the first place. There's limited things you can do to my knowledge (back my up on this Jaw if you can) to help in these situations, the best thing however would be to report the ban of course, if you felt it was an out'of'the'blue ban, so Jawfin here can slap you with a hall-pass and let you onto the server :D

As MA said, just luck of the draw. What you can do is leave a comment on http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/ stating the IP has a new owner, but it's hardly worth the effort. It could be worse, you could be living in Russia which has the highest blacklisted IPs per capita, so many budding (but very naive) criminals!
