So, I came back to JK after about 6 months of being retired, decided to join KR and was auto-banned. I assume maybe it was because of the name I was using? I was logging in as GoldenGai. I just recently went to Golden Gai in Shinjuku and thought the name sounded neat (since I'm also gay and the word Gai looks a little like the word gay even though pronounced like "guy").

I have to say, if a script is going to auto-ban someone for a name choice, I think that's a little harsh. I can't recall ever breaking the rules on KR and to be banned upon entering the server really made me question why I came back to this game...

I seriously doubt it had anything to do with something you did, more likely that your ip was in a range used by someone else or something similar. Jawfin should be able to clear it up

Well I'm not sure it had to do with any sort of range ban either, considering I live in Japan and I doubt there's many players here, though I'm sure there's at least one VPN so maybe my IP is similar enough, I don't know. We'll see.

As you correctly postulated your ISP is well known for hosting dedicated servers so that it flagged your connection as coming through a server. I removed the lock and gave it a cookie and told it to be nice to you from now on.

Much obliged Jawfin. Yeah that's the wonderful thing about national telecom, eh? I once banned an entire city in the UK by accident because of a DoS attack from one of the public lines. xD
