I have this here little idea. Have you ever played an AMAZING game this is extremely underrated, or unknown to many? Games that you play from time to time and are so fun and great, that it is a disappointment how unknown it is? Well, thats what this here topic is about. Feel free to post about games that you have played that are worth trying out, and are really underrated by the public.

To start the topic off; I will post about one game called "Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2", and it's sequel/addon, "Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge".

Intro Cutscene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnd0qg4I_MM

That video is a basic introduction to get the watcher interested, but the game, absolutly perfect. The game is a game of stratigy one. A basic 'build your base, and defeat the enemy' game, except this game carries out this purpose extremely well. In Red Alert 2, there are two classes to choose from; Allies, and Soviets. Each class has it's own 'constrution options', which are what the player can build, or train. Each class also have their respective countries, which each get an addition unit or building depending on country. For example, the Russians get a Tesla tank, which is a heavy armor tank that fires electricity at their enemies through two Telsa coils on the tank, or how the Americans have Airborn paradrops, which can drop units anywhere the player specifies over a certain amount of time. As I said, it varies on which class, and country you choose.

The game comes with many options, such as Singleplayer campaign, and multiplayer Skirmish. Singleplayer lets the player choose which storyline they wish to pursue, should it be soviets or allies. Skirmish, which is basically a "free match", has options such as "Battle", where you could face either AIs or other players through internet connection in a "last man standing" battle, "Team Battles", self explainitory, and tons of extra modes in the expansion "Yuri's Revenge".

Here is a gameplay video of RA2:

What makes this game so amazing and underrated?
Perhaps the amazing time you have building stratigies, and plans to attack the enemy using the unique units at your disposal. Or maybe the great music in the background. Or the great storyline behind it all. Truly, one of the best games I've ever played.

For me an awesome game has to be one I still play, or have at least tracked down - as considering my age some become obsolete!

Arx Fatalis
Weird Worlds 2
Hacker Elite
Imperium Galactica II
Kingpin

I'd put Portal here too and even though it was originally a "B-side" game I wouldn't consider it unknown.

Side note, technically, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy almost fits the category of "Awesome Unknown Game"!

(1) Kinetica for the PS2 was a really strange / fun racing game. I wouldn't recommend Google image searching the game, a few graphic images will come up.

(2) Shadow of the Colossus also for PS2. Many of you probably don't know but this is actually one of my top 3 games - it's given me a lot of inspiration over the years (look at my signature!). It's not as unknown as most, since it did receive a lot of street-cred back in the day, but I think it's definitely been lost to time.

(3) JKA - definitely have to agree with Jaw on that one. The only game I've consistently played since its release.

(4) Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds was for PC, probably one of my favorite RTS's to date.

(5) Star Wars: Force Commander was another RTS for PC. Definitely not as fun as SW:GB, from what I remember at least. I wasn't very good at it when I was little.

I'll add more if I can remember any!

Not really an unknown game, mostly a lost game. An amazing Dragon Ball game came out around 2009-2010, called Dragon Ball Online, and it has been the best Dragon Ball game alive since then, until it was taken down for some reason. Now I come to find out that there is a small staff of people working to emulate that game, and work almost exactly like it did before, but this time, more compatibility with different countries, meaning, a full english translation of everything :DDDDD!!!
