I was actually going to try and get it for my mom's Android, but it attempted to make us believe that all of the pictures on her phone were deleted (which is very bad, my mom uses her phone's camera for work)... long story short, the operation which reads information from the micro SD card is very touchy and would appreciate it if no more storage were to be used at all. I've been trying to convince her to get a new phone :\

Some of my friends have Androids, and I will recommend them this app if they ever feel the need to play Solitaire : D

In case anyone here didn't already know I am a programmer with a few apps on the Android Play store, Solitaire 3D being my most recent.

What I wanted is ideas for you guys! I want to write a quick sample app which uses all the resources of Google+ so I can have a framework. Specifically I'm looking for ideas for a simple game which can be either interactive or competitive between multiple players. What technologies will be incorporated will be the ability to find and play other people, probably a simple in-game chat, the ability to invite people to install and play the game, high-score and achievement leaderboards, and whatever else I come across with Google+ offers which I could use.

The only thing I can think of is Rock Paper Scissors, which could be multiplayer with scoring by the number of people you beat with your selection subtracted by those whom you lose to, divide by the number of players then add 1; which would score a result between 0 and 1 - and first to 5 wins overall - something like that.

But, that's pretty lame, and just 99% luck. So if anyone has an idea for a equally graphically simple game that's not so lame, then post here please

Checkers may actually work - but it occurred to me I've already got a foot in the door here in that I have 3 apps already which I got working in multiplayer before the support company collapsed (which if happens to Google makes this issue moot anyway). So out of the 3 I'll probably approach it easiest to hardest, which is 1. Dots and Dashes, 2. Sim then 3. Snap. Snap will be a lot harder as its all about reaction times.

Doesn't work like that Jato >.< The Play Store only counts downloads of actual logged in gmail accounts - so even if you downloaded it onto different devices logged into the same account, its still only 1 download.

So every now and then I get an disagreeable customer. And sometimes its funny in a sad kind of a way. This is such a case.

So my reply on the Play Store (I can respond to user's messages)

Playing 40 times means you would of gotten this question 40 times: "Do you want to see the solution?" - Your failure to solve games which can be solved should not result in a one star review - perhaps your comment reflects the thought power required to not solve after 40 attempts. Even still, sorry this game wasn't easy enough for you.

Thanks for writing. The thing is, the games actually are winnable - it's not like the software is working against you, it's actually working for you. Before dealing out the cards it checks for a solution (given the solvable option is turn on, which it is by default). Now I grant you it doesn't just fall into your lap.

As you've been playing solitaire for nearly as long as I have I can only suggest one improvement to your technique. When I was developing the artificial intelligence to find a solution, I learnt this: it's not about building the foundations, it's not about making long piles, it's not even about turning the face down cards up - it's all about the dealing deck, when to drawn from it and when not to so the cards you need will be in the right place at the right time. This often may mean skipping the playing up of an Ace so next time around you can access the card below it when there's a place for it, or on the turn of the next 3 cards will be what you need (or even the 3 after that, or after them). This requires knowing the turning deck very well!

This point is something you would also appreciate if you research "how to solve solitaire" kind-of sites. In my application if you looked at the solutions provided for any of those games you came unstuck on, you'll see this principle apply. You can stop the automatic play and just use the right yellow arrow button to play it at a slower speed to watch it unfold.

A note though, using the word "suck" on a developer's labour of love is hardly going to grant you any brownie points ;)

Well I know u can never win every hand in solitare but when u lose nearly 40 hands in a row there is a problem with the game

I don't know what to say, the games can be solved and the application can prove it. In resolving the solution I apply a difficulty factor though, like the depth the application went to solve it. If you go into the About screen the button there shows you a score out of 100 on how hard it thinks it is. It's not perfect as the software is obviously applying different techniques and thus it's definition of easy and hard could be different, but at least that would be an indicator. In all humility I will admit to watching it solve ones I found hard has helped me better my style. Like I said, what you are watching for principally is how it treats the turning deck.

Even still, the games are solvable, the solution can be played out in front of your eyes, ergo, there is no bug.

Well in the number of times I tried to get a winning and couldn't do it there is a bug I see someone else tried 10 times to win but couldn't do it I am glad I didn't pay for your game that would of made me mad

Haha yea! Mind you, the solutions are without cost of points in the paid version - ironically. I suppose I should look into having a difficulty level, where the game will only produce deals where it found it a lot easier to solve, in the hope that the players have the capacity to solve it too. If for nothing else, I hope you've come to appreciate our loved game of solitaire has more depth to it than originally thought - I know I have in developing this over the years.

Need help in translating illogical run-on sentences!

A user of my Solitaire app has reported what he considers to be a bug, only, I don't understand him. As some here are experts of non-punctuation endless sentences, maybe you can translate for me??!? Knowing the game of Klondike solitaire is a requirement

Card. Glitch....when you play 3 cards and use cards from pile cards always fall in same order which the should not especially if you are constantly pulling from pile

The cards will draw from the same order. Perhaps when you play on a table with a physical deck you play 3 cards individually into your hand thus reversing it's order when placed down - but that is not the traditional way it is played. The deck is to retain its order so that when cards are drawn from it the lay of the 3 card turn is bubbled up (as it were) for the next go through. You'll find all Klondike Solitaire games exhibit that behavior. I hope I managed to explain that correctly!

Same order draw ex ...6.9.A. ....then Q.10. 5. I use the 10 card and continue. Then next draw when pile has started over is that same 6.9.A ..there fore cards are NOT rotating properly

Just to get the thinking right, from the start there are 24 cards in the remainder of the deck, so say face-down they are from the top: A 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 J Q K (of any suit), then another 11 cards after.
So, the turn of the first 3 cards the the waste would be
A 2 3
with the 3 on top, i.e. play available from right to left. Although the A was on the "top" of the face-down pile it becomes the bottom of the 3 cards. You'd have to play off the 3 & 2 to get to the A. So the next turn would be: -
4 5 6
with the same logic. Then
7 8 9
Now say we play the 9, making the 8 available, which we can't use, so we turn again, yielding
10 J Q
So to date our deck is thus: -
A 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 10 J Q
where the Q is available to play.

Lets assume we go through the rest of the deck, and reset it, the next go though would then be like: -
A 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 10
then
J Q K ...
Where on each turn the 3, 6, 10 and K are the playable cards.

This is the typical play used by all solitaire games I've found, and the first way of playing as mentioned here: -

Now, that doesn't mean it has to be this way! If you can describe how you would like it to play, combined with the fact you bought the game (so allow me to express my heartfelt appreciation for that) then please let me know and I will make it an option for you as you like it (and I'm guessing its the 2nd bullet point from the wikipedia article).

One thing I will have to state though, is if the flow of the cards is changed is I cannot offer the solutions for that. My artificial intelligence which solves the game is extremely complex, and relies heavily on the logic of the turning deck.

Please forgive me for it is hard to understand your run-on sentences. The way I am trying to read what you are saying is that you are getting the same 3 cards even after you have used one of them. So in my example where I used the 9, with the next turn through the deck you would be seeing that 9 again? Which would mean that 9 is now in two places - still in the deck and where it was put?

Again sorry for not understanding.

I have no clue about solitare, but in that last paragraph (which I'm assuming is the one you don't get) I think he's saying that he might use up 1 or 2 of the three cards he's dealt, but then next time the cards come round, they're in the same order? I've re-written what I think he means in plain English:

Basically this is what he's saying, but his logic is seriously flawed. He says he draws 3 cards (say a 2 3 4) and can't use any of them so draws again (say a 5 6 7) and plays the 6. So then when he draws again (pretend there are only 6 cards total) he draws a 2 3 4 but is mad because he thinks taking the 6 away should have affected the order of the other cards...when it clearly won't.

Basically, if there's a pile of cards, and I go to the halfway point of the pile and shuffle the bottom half, the pattern of the top half is unchanged and will stay in the same pattern when I go through the pile again. But he thinks the top should be changed by virtue of the bottom half's being changed.
