anyways someone keeps banning me without any warning and when im not doing anything wrong and thats just not cool and really annoying when i gotta keep spoofin my ip. im terrified of using my rl name in ur server.

Okay first of all, I'll be honest, I don't remember you. But my notes say that you're a lamer and a troll, banned on December 23rd.

Second, I give many many warnings before I ban someone. Just because you are now not getting one doesn't meant you weren't given them. We don't lift a ban simply because you've changed your IP. Sorry you find this "annoying" (lol) but we tend to keep people who make life difficult for others off our server.

But I'll tell ya what. If you promise to never lame again, promise to follow ALL of our rules (listed here), and apologize, I'll lift your ban.

there wasn't any council admins on at the time of my ban either, made me think, u falcon, was watching from rcon and bant me.

Dynamic IP is not a spoofed IP - be glad for that as spoofed IPs get short shift. As Falcon said your ban wouldn't be lifted until you appeal, so changing IPs means the new IP will get banned too - which is what I did when I sent you the server message about the forums.

I didn't want to touch this comment as it's not in my best interests to educate fledgling hackers, but, spoofing a MAC is pointless outside a LAN. The MAC data is lost as soon as the packet leaves the frame - it's only used for spoofing devices on an intranet, like doing a man-in-the-middle attack over an unsecured wifi.

The term VPN is also misused in that if you were on a VPN you would not be on the Internet, because the P stands for Private.... The second that network accesses the outside world, it is no longer a Virtual Private Network. VPNs are essentially a Claytons' LAN, behaving as an intranet secured by a SSL tunnel (HTTPS protocol) from client to client. That you would "spoof" a MAC to connect via a "VPN" is completely nonsensical - perhaps you are doing something for a proxy, but this isn't it.

Using a proxy to play the game is, um, stupid. It'll ping you over 500 due to the extra travel distance, and via a weak interim (that being another end-user at the bottom of the food chain) - also note the ping the server shows is that of the proxy, not the true travel distance. It would be like flying from America to Europe with a stop-over at a minor New Zealand airport. This kind of connection would only be good for chat, as game-play would be prohibitive.

All my connection statistics on you show you connecting from the same area, within a designated IP range. After all, if you were using proxies you would not need to be asking GoD for them to lift your ban, just saying! But as I said, there is no advantage in teaching how to do bad things to the general public.

spoofing your mac IS effective and results in your isp assigning you a new ip. you're right, all my ip's come from the same place, thats cuz im not switching my isp. these ip's are static to the current mac im using.

also, i have means of connecting via VPN to free services that, yes, proxy my connection back onto the internet. and my ping on jka usually never exceeds 120. travel distance? maybe if u live in aussieland. u are living in the past d00d.

Considering Jaw actually is a programmer and has seen you banned before its probably not a smart idea to cross him. Secondly I'm pretty sure his knowledge exceeds yours as you were banned and had to come ask to be UNBANNED. So it would appear that Jaws statement is correct... just saying

Considering I don't know how to program. Jaw actually has a degree in programming and knows many details of those kind of things. All I'm saying is. If you don't know someone, don't judge something quickly because you might not know what you are dealing with.

I think arguing with one of our council members on something he does basically regularly isn't going to win you points, not minding the already fragile standing you have with us, given your recent controversy; but the real question here, to me, is why you're even commenting after the fact that your ban has been lifted. I have no idea what motivates you to continue an argument you're set out to lose in the first place.

Secondly, I have no idea how to program, so your first point is automatically invalid.

On a lasting note (because everyone obviously loves Jato <3 No jokes), I hardly consider it wise to admit openly that you can "unban" yourself from our server, which is not trust worthy in my eyes. Correct me otherwise, but having the ability to unban ones self is kind of hacking, in a sense. (remember, this is why your first point is unmistakeably irrelevant. I have absolutely no idea what entails programming). All I draw from is the point our punishment tools serve, and the anxiety I get from knowing that someone who possibly deserves to be banned can "unban" themselves. Again, I surmise that's highly unwise to admit.

Edit: Your time is worthless if it's being spent acting like an arrogant fool. No offense meant, but that's how you're behaving.
