All hopes for jk4 are dashed, since lucasarts had licensed the series.

This is pretty bad news :( but Lucas Films, Ilm, and those other parts of Lucas I never remember are still intact. Disney knows it will make money off another star wars movie and ILM is one of the best special effects companies in business right now.

My heart goes out to those who lost their jobs :( It's a rough time to be in game development and I hope they can find a new place to go.

As for their games the only one they were working on was Star Wars 1313 and there is still a chance someone might pick it back up and finish it with Disney's approval. Also Jedi Knight was a game series made by RavenSoft before Lucas shut the series down so maybe under Disney they will get to make a fourth? Depends on if they see any value in paying people to make another. Disney would own that IP now.

Wow it's like finding golden happiness among mounds of sadness poop. This is good news though! I am not sure how much can be done with this that hasn't been done though??? I don't know much about modding.

I honestly feel pretty unaffected on this cause there wasn't much recently done by Lucas Arts that popped out at me. The pre-quell starwars trilogy was more than a little dissapointing now looking back. And I really am satisfied with the sw universe as far as Lucas is concerned. I just hope academy servers stay and I can still play with you guys.

Sure recently they sort of tailed off, but they were one of the most creative and influential studio ever. A lot of former lucasarts guys went off and started their own companies that made more good games (telltale games is one), and they came up with the SCUMM engine I think

The sourceforge link is a deadend. The source code have been lost(?).

I have it saved, if necessary I'll upload it.

i wouldn't be too concerned. it's just all current projects. i'm sure they did some analysis on the costs of everything going on, and decided there wasn't much of a future in whatever was currently in development. for instance, disney inheriting the last season of the clone wars isn't going to do much for them. why bother wasting money producing the last series of something? there are still promises for most lost content to be released in some other fashion (DVDs, comics, etc...)

most games in development aren't actually made by disney or lucas arts themselves. the rights are licensed out and existing game companies with good reputations do the work. most of those companies have other projects they are working on, and other big games under their belt, so i'm not worried about them.
