hey guys i got an xbox360 and a couple of weeks ago e and my friend were playing minecraft on it. so i went to see if we could do split screen by seing if his controller would fit in my xbox. i turned the xbox on an angle and it shut off suddenly. we were both puzzled at what happened

i have my yellow red and white cords set up in the order behind my TV;
Yellow, White, Red I'm very sure im correct, all the cords are plugged in correctly. one of my friends said that it might be on the floor or something enclosed in it. well its on the same table as my tv is on now, and when i shake my xbox i here a noise in it

and also i press the power button and a fan twitches.
What's going on with my xbox and how can i fix it?
thx

well you must know this rule Do not move the Xbox while playing a game otherwise it will destroy the disc inside also youre friend is partialy right you better keep the Xbox away from the floor and have plenty of space behind it so there is enugh space to get rid of the hot air that comes out of the Xbox dont keeping it on the carpet or some thing that provides isolation also can dmg youre Xbox because it would overheat quicker and if keept on the floor it can catch dust...im still not sure what youre saying is wrong with youre Xbox
- Can you still use you're Xbox does it power on?
- Does it show any light arround the power button?
- try looking behind the xbox if both fans are where they should be

well i turned it a bit to my right so i could see the back of it where the cords go. then it shut down auto maticly. the big thing? yes the light on the side of it works

it was lying horizontal when turned.
My xbox 360 is the slim type.

So does it power up when you turn it on and you just don't get a signal to your tv or does xbox not turn on at all(does it hum and vibrate like it normally did or just stay silent)?

no it doesnt turn on at all. no hum or noise comes out
