Greetings everyone!

I am looking for advice from people that have experience in using drawing tablets. I am currently in search for a good tablet.

What would 'I' use a drawing tablet for?

- Writing notes directly into the computer/laptop (not wasting paper)
- Drawing (duh!)
- Drawing sketches for 3D models
- Work (in general)

All advice regarding which tablet I should buy is very much recommended ;)

I have a Bamboo brand tablet, it works pretty well.

Here is their site: http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/Bamboo ... blets.aspx

Most tablets are roughly the same, the few differences are size an additional function {buttons and such that do different things}

There is also a laptop-tablet combo made by Microsoft, called the Surface: http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-US

But its more along the lines of the tablets nowadays, like the Samsung Galaxy and Ipad, although it functions on Windows 8 OS, so you can draw directly on the screen.

Between the time I've posted and saw your reply; I've bought the
"Wacom Intuos5 Touch" medium.

No thanks to any multimedia crap like iPads.
And no thanks to excellent, yet un-needed products from Samsung. :P

I have an older model Intuos and I was going to recommend it. It's by far the best I've worked with. Certain models let you lift up the top layer of film over the tablet and place paper down (for inking, or tracing, or whatever other purpose you can imagine).

The Intuos has a lot of versatility in terms of pressure and angle, which can give pretty fancy strokes if you spend the time with it.

Good choice.

I was actually looking to buy one as well... it'd be so convenient rather than having to scan-in my drawings and what not...

I can't believe this topis is still at top. (Before bumping this).

Anyhow, I am rapidly learning how to draw (using circle and box techniques and whatnot) :D
