Hi, I am here requesting permission to drop my master Turtle due to his unavailability. I am unable to continue my training as a result. I would appreciate your support and any other additional suggestions you may have.

You and Manda both realise, 4 or 5 days doesn't really make them inactive, right? Besides, I believe I just saw Turtle this past weekend.

we have been realizing their inactivity for months now, we decided to do this 5 days ago. jaw said to message them and wait for 4 days.

m@d has been my paddy since november, and i have only seen him twice, as for ob1 he claims he hasent seen his master on for about the same time, not only that but ob1 wishes to learn counters again because he says turtle rushes with him and he never learned a couple stuff. we both think this is a great oppertunity for both of us.

EDIT: and yes, he did appear at that server with me, after we both posted this, and plus, he left in about 1-3 minutes later. so if turtle rushes ob1's training as ob1 said, and turtle has 3 minutes to teach him something, i think ob1 will be pretty confused. and i also feel like this is mostly ob1's decision. if he wants to be trained by me, and i agree, then why not?

OB1, you know by doing this you will drop back down to Student and have to start all over again, correct?

We just need to separate the issues here - whether there is a new master waiting for OB1 or not is irrelevant if the current master is still around.

It takes a rare event for even Council to interfere between a Master and their Padawan, although a few here will know we take an interest if something doesn't seem right.

We will let you know our decision - although I cannot remember last time I saw Turtle post on the forums!

I tend to agree with AJ on this... The Master / Padawan relationship should be chosen carefully and not easily broken once decided upon. It shouldn't be chosen quickly just in order to get on the fast track to promotion. As an example it took me quite awhile to find the right Master that could actually teach me a thing or two about single saber, and this was after carefully watching how our different members dueled. And even though Hosh-Pak and I have both been inactive at different points in time, we don't abandon each other in search of easier prey!

i agree with aj and archie....me and cubin have had weeks at a time we dont see each other but we work things out here and there..sometimes its irritating but thats just life..and ob1 jsut bcuz turtle isnt there doesnt mean your not allowed to learn things here and there...

As this thread has changed its original content a bit, I'll post my opinion; which isn't necessarily that of council. Council won't get involved between a master and paddy unless we are specifically invited into dealing with an issue. I personally have a schedule I follow when training a Padawan, its rather complete - and I get upset if someone tries to teach my Padawan something I am not ready for them to cover yet.

You see arch and stein, even if turtle is there, that wont help. ob1 said that turtle always rushed his training and feels like he didnt learn some stuff. and if he stays with turtle, what will he learn? and ob1 also said he wishes to take the jedi trial again just so that i can train him in counters for (once again i say,) turtle rushed his training.

Manda, let's stop the Turtle bashing, ok? If that was the real problem you would need to talk to him about it.

The problem is activity.

Mandalorian - if council will not get involved between master and paddy, pray tell what are you doing? It is a rhetorical question.

This very simple process has been made complex due to the opinions of others and subsequently the emotions raised.

Turtle has told the council via pm that he doesn't mind dropping OB1. Evidently he wasn't prepared to post here thus stick his head out of his shell so people could take a swipe at it.

Since which, OB1 has contacted the council saying he wants to stick with Turtle, but that may be not really how he feels, it could just be an attempt to calm the situation.

We don't ignore problems until they go away. Is it possible that we can forget the situation that brought us here? Please just post what you want to do whilst ignoring outside and unrelated issues - so we can decide for you.

I'm thinking about dropping my master "Turtle" again. I've thought about it for a long time now, and since he hasn't been on for months I really don't know what to do except to request dropping him, I want to move up in the ranks, all I have learned is the counters, I'm tired of being at the same rank. I am aware that if you accept this request, that my rank might go back to padawan, and that's fine with me, it's just that I've been waiting for so long for Turtle to come back, and he hasn't. I'm sorry about bringing this topic up again, but I don't know what else to do. I hope you accept my request.

Turtle isn't on the roster at the moment due to his inactivity, Its been almost 10 months since this topic started, so i'm approving this.
