i just got Soundforge 6. so anyone know how to use it? i wanna know how to reverse songs and play it backwards and most importantly, split single songs into multiple songs or tracks on a CD. i have so many single track comedy albums and i have to fast forward to different parts of the cd instead of skipping tracks.

thx to any help

I havent actually used it myself for a very long time, I know my brother has since he does alot of music editing for his gigs.. I knwo this sounds lame but try the help files or a quick google.

Or the best way with those sort of things is browse through the effects editor, you will learn so much about what you can do by just playing, you wil see its a powerful peice of software there.. It is pretty cool.

i am currently running my computer off my old iPod mini i found in my room, hey, 4 free gigabytes of space considering i got a new one. i plan on installing windows media center on this aswell :P

so soundforge is lying dormant and uninstalled on my comp, im sure ill have a new drive after christmas to be able to run it on.

are you seriously running your computer off USB? not a good idea USB transfer is horrendously slow in comaprison.

I understand teh concept of putting files or storing stuff there, I do it myself almost like a usb key if you like, but wouldnt stick windows on there.

Besides I dont think it would work. The Bios wants to detect E-IDE, SCSI or SATA drives not USB.

I agree with Chan, USB is slow - USB 2 is a little faster but still not enough to run windows. Secondly your better off getting an external hard-drive, you can pick a smaller size pretty cheaply nowdays.

while it might not be 100% impossible to install on a usb hard drive (there may be ways some how although not 100% possible depending on hardware) I think ultimateley for what its worth.. wait 3 weeks.. as to install windows... ipod however youd have to wipe the whole ipod and put a ntfs partition on it ( not sure if you do that to an ipod, id be surprised if it woudl let you) i mean ipod needs it software to run right??

best option is dont involve your ipod for that.. ipods are useful for remote storage and portable storage .. leave it at that :)

Furthermore, an iPod doesn't have the capabilities to handle the stress of running an OS. You're running the risk of it overheating and damaging itself.

does it still play?

your missing the point, formattting it in cmd prompt in windows? or did you use fdisk etc and boot to fdisc / dos.. in which case i dont think formats ntfs...

i used windows, nothing is on it atm except some music, movies and my sigs. i told tricky about this, it wont let me use my windows media center disk to install to it, it will only install to the main drive, it wont let me select a partition or anything

maybe i have to partition it..... :/

(PS it does not run like an ipod anymore, itunes wont even recognize it)

of courfse it wont - you probabaly wiped off the protocols and such which were on there..

(sorry have been away for teh weekend)

But thats the thing it wont detect a USB driver for installation.. Windows would detetc an dinstall the partition for you prior to you installing windows.. formatting as ntfs does install apartition.. NTFS partition.
