As many of you may have noticed, our Jedi Master section of the Rosters has been a place to keep older members who have passed their Master trial, are inactive, but can never be apart from our family because of all they've done.

However, due to this, it has been difficult to keep our active Jedi Masters apart from the older members.

We now have a solution :)

The KR Council is pleased to announce the position

Honorary Member

This position in the clan will be reserved only for those members that can no longer actively be with us, but have been with the clan for so long, and done so much for us.

These members can still wear the KR tags on server, and can still see the Member's Only section of the forum.

The Honorary rank is a very well-respected position that is only given to a select few individuals. We've established this position so that we can honor and properly thank all of those Knights Reborn who have helped KR become such a wonderful clan to this day.

And the first members to be given this revered position are:

Fluffy
RoNin
Darfin
Panther
Nintendo
Kane
Starcomand
Hime

Please congratulate KR's first inaugural class of Honorary Members!

What if some of them have joined a different clan? His/her clan might consider it as having multiple clans.

P.S.
'bout time someone made an alternative rank for old members to view member's only! gz!

Our current thinking is they are still KR members. They have access to the forums and admin, therefore, if they actually join another clan they would no longer be considered Honorary here - that's my take, not sure how Fal feels :P

Aww, I don't really see the point in that.
This rank would serve a bigger purpose if it meant that old members that are inactive, which are removed from the roster/clan - or old members whose reasons for leaving KR is due to inactivity...

Not for the "Cool-and-awesome Club" kind of rank! mm..

It was sort of inspired by that each time we went through the member list to bump those players we've seen inactive for a while, and if they don't respond we move them out of the clan. These are members that we don't have the heart to actually remove: -
Fluffy: Who founded the clan, and yet I have met only once in my 3 to 4 years.
STARCOMAND: Was a council member for ages - I guess you don't really appreciate what they gave until you look at the member list above and sort the members by total posts descending order.
Panther: Well, we would shuffle her off, except that she's Phoenix' fleshly sister and we're afraid she'll beat him to death with a pillow (not so much afraid as curious).
etc. All of these have stories and KR wouldn't be what we see it now if it wasn't for their work - thus - Honorary!!

well then why not just leave them were they are? why create a whole new rank for these people? i can see why you would have like sort of a legend rank for those types of members, but still. even the name, honorary, it doesn't even sound like a distinguishment (is that a word?). like when a sports team goes to visit the president or something the president always becomes an honorary member of the team, but it doesn't mean anything, its just protocol almost.

what you sayd about panther XD

Because it takes away from the Masters of the clan that are actually active. We've had (or at least I have, can't speak for the other Council) people come up to us saying stuff like "You know, all of our Jedi Masters right now are inactive :/" and things of the sort.

This way, it distinguishes between who's currently active in the clan (like AJ and dent) and who isn't (like Fluffy and RoNin). Also, it shows respect to those who have made KR a great place to be.

Almost any clan nowadays has an "Honorary" rank. It may not be called that exactly, but you get my point.

Really what we're trying to say here is that we "honor" and respect them (I feel like I've said this before) because they've done all that they have for us.

This means something; it's not just protocol. This means "Thank you so much for all you have done for us. We couldn't have done it without you."

Ahh, so these ranks are for "Inactive members that we won't be removed from the clan because we appreciate what they have put into the clan"-kind of rank? hihi.

I agree with the thoughtful gesture but I don't agree with granting them the same privileges of an active member. Doesn't seem fair for lengthy inactive's to take part in voting or decision making regardless of what they have done for the clan in the past.

The rank should server more as a memorial of recognition for their past contributions. If they come back and become active again then they're previous rank and privileges should be reinstated.

Guys, if you want to debate rules and regulations, let's do it here ok?
