ok, well i just downloaded the game from filefront and then when i click on icon, it comes up with the patch thingy and all the news stuff...

then it comes up with an error saying the operation timed out...and hen it asks retry or cancle. ive retry 1000 times and nothing...

can someone help meh? i realy want to try this game...

there is a problem with the gameguard.. it will be fixed shortly, this has happened before

Well theres load of theories that are floating around however the real issue with it is the one they havent mentioned at all quite simply their patch server and the gamguard server are not equiped to handle the volume of traffic trying to connect to them.

Every server can only handle so many people actually connecting to them at a time (once your connected your fine) and if your not lucky one then you'll simply time out . Ive found that if you keep trying eventually you can break through and get your connection. Its a bit like dial-up internet used to work way back when, I mean it used to take you at least ten tries to connect just to your internet in the busy periods back when it was first introduced. All it takes is a little patience and a steady mouse finger clicking on retry all the time, they really need to update their servers.

another thing, i talked to cap about wat server every1s on, just t varify, ur all on Abaitt or w/e?

ive done evverything:dowloaded game, dont work, press retry 10000000 times, check requirments and dowload a better more updated graphic driver, redownload game, press retry 1000000000000 times...

and nothing works...im starting to feel like ill never play this game...

am i the only one with this many problems?

flyff works fine for me >_>

If you have a firewall make sure its allowing both gameguard and flyff access to the internet. They must both have access otherwise you wont be able to connect.

Actually its both. It controls in incoming and outgoing packets of information Flyff uses when connecting to the internet. In some way similar to a firewall.
Regardless, its not relevant to this topic. So we need to focus our attention on sorting out Wand's problems.

like i siad.. turn off the patch system and the game guard:
open up neuz.ini found in the flyff folder
where it says ip "" change it to ip "120.0.0.1"
then at the bottom insert this : sunkist 1
then make a shortcut of the neuz.exe and put it on the desktop
open its properties and add sunkist 1 after the target line
"C:\Flyff\Neuz.exe" sunkist 1

im pretty sure this stops the gameguard opening just make sure when u get into the game at the bit u insert ur password alt+tab and go into the neuz.ini
and change the ip back to ""
this should work i dont know..

Fascinating. I don't think this got anything to do with Wand's problem...
His problem was (i think) the patch wouldn't... start - and he couldnt even click on Start so the game guard could start..

I don't think there is anything that can stop it except waiting for the GM's and admin-people to repair the haxing problem.

Mira, gameguard acts as a firewall. You really need to do your homework, disabling it wouldnt be advised. You have clearly copy and pasted those instructions from a webpage and dont know the outcome. So unless you know exactly what you are doing, dont post things like this. The most likely cause is that Wand's firewall isnt allowing Flyff the connection to the internet it needs, disabling gameguard (or attempting too) wont make the slightest bit of difference.

i have attemted that and it has worked.. just never ever do it again >_>
and when u disable gameguard it disables the patch system aswell because i have done this because i was messing around with some stuff before,i didnt get that from a website i got it from a flyff minimzer which works its just u need to disable the gameguard which i have done but stopped after a bit cause i didnt want my account banned, i may not know much about it but i do know that u can disable the game guard like this, most of the time i dont know what im doing so dont bother listening to me.. >_<
perhaps wand isnt connecting to the patch server?

well, thanks mira, but i dont think i need to disable gamegaurd...and u know u can just delete game gaurd from the flyff fola thing...i think

well, i think akis right... the admins/ ppls of flyff need to get there asses in gear and fix dis haxin problem...

pho, i thought it was the firewall thing too, bc that wat happened wit me limewire...but i redownloaded flyff and then tried to turn off firewall then do it, but nothin...

the thing keeps on timin out...and i pressed retry for 2 hours strait(seriously, ask kane)

well, i hope they fix da problem soon...

Make sure you have fully disabled your firewall and try again. If it still doesnt work, let me know and ill give you a few more ideas I have in mind.

This probably should've been asked sooner (maybe it was and I'm too lazy to look), but do you have a router?

Well unless he has a router he should never disable his firewall online. It can take less than 20 seconds these days for a system to become infected.

To test software firewalls questioning a good way would be to remove all approved applications and get it to re ask you again. therefore you can go abouts making sure that you give it the correct permissions.

Tricky does raise a valid point about the router as it may require port forwarding, although alot ofrouters these days support uPnP which helps automatically set this up over the NAT.. however theres noharm in trying it manually. However the router itself shouldnt prevent outbound traffic. But its circumstantial.

Dont need a minmizer just up your screen resolution to about 1600x1200

Then before you type in username + password hit alt enter. place the windowed Flyff wherever you want it and bobs your mothers brother you can still acess your PC without crashing their badly programmed client :p
