Thankfully most of us understand it means Laugh out Loud

The doctor my mum works with thought it meant "Lots of Love"..

So when he got a txt message on his phone from a friend saying "My Mum just died" he replied, with "Sorry to hear that lol"

Needless to say my mum advised she rang her friend immediately.

But it is so bad , my toes curled and I "almost" had to laugh at the badness of it..

That literally happened to one of my friends at NYU over Thanksgiving Break!

Wow, parents need to learn the lingo before using it. ^^'' Makes for an awkward silence afterwards.
