Skateboarding in schools?

I am just wondering who has the option to take skateboarding in school (at least those of you that still go). i just wonder because i have been looking into it, being quite the enthusiast. My school has banned skateboards on several occasions now (not that it stops some of us) and me and some of my mates really would like to get it introduced to our school. i researched into it on google and discovered that they do it in some places in america, in finland, even scotland and devon (both of which are in the UK in case any of you were wondering)
Any comments would be appreciated on this topic

its stupid how teachers do not allow skateboards in school...in my school u have to leave them at the main office or risk having it taken for the rest of the year! it frigin sucks

ofcourse it should!11 instead of beeing fat and lazy: you should have skateboarding (require a certain ammount of skill) and even learning it should be hard!! great way to keep shape and its....FUN! (accidents -will- happen.)
I used to skate...

@kakashi: yeh, in my school they confiscate them for the day of the term, i forgot, but the whole year seems harsh.
@aki: i agreee with you, its a completely valid point that it is a great form of exercise and will decrease obesity among more kids/teens.

skate boards and skates should be allowed!
at my college there are many stairs so not many ppl do it. but sometimes i get on skates to school
and no security to stop me and teachers dont botter. on monday i have class at the main ground so sometimes i dont even pull out my skates
its kidda funny when you skate in the hall way slapping all freaks that are a cross your path
IT SHOULD BE ALLOWED!

the other one i wasnt there and the lads were harrassing her one grabbed her and her ass so she spun around giggled kneeded him then smacked him in the face then legged it lol she dont often flip now though but its only in the line of good

Well, in the US, at least, I can understand why they wouldn't allow it.
It's a little thing called liability. You break your leg on their property, and that opens up a crap-load of financial obstacles.

@ mel: yeh, i agree some of us should be more careful
@ virus: lol, sounds good, is that u or one of ya mates in teh video?
@ blade: thats unfair what u said about not washing hair, coz some of ma mates skate and they dont have long hair, also u cant know that they dont wash it, some peoples hair is natrually greasy so they cant help it. it doesnt mean they dont wash.
@ tricky: yup, i see ur angle, people sue for stupid reasons. in teh UK if a burglar comes into ur back garden to rob u and hes falls over a rake or sumit then he can sue u, its ridiculous.

I think the sueing lawsuits thing is bad but to be fair its a bigger thing in USA.. Its a lawyers paradise lol
Kakashi its Melissa not Malissa :s still aloot of people end up saying Mellisa instead.
Seriously I have a rep i know sometimes but its only in the name of good i Swear.
Id encourage more parks or sports as long as it was say banned in town centers and such.. as it can be hazardous.
