Zab my answers of course depend on two things
Very Budget and what you want to do with your PC, I assume your building for playing some games?
Just before you buy just say, because what you have bought you might aswell upgrade in a years time, because its not even core 2 duo. ESPECIALLY since you got 64 bit which id avoid to be honest just for issues..
I wouldnt get anything 64bit until windows 7.
All im saying if your budget was say I dunno $600-$800 Youd get alot more for your money.
It might be better than what you got but its going to run games like a dog.

Graphics Card: Integrated Graphics (NVIDIA GeForce 7100) [VGA]
Is not going to play any decent or recent games...
You might get an old game to work on it, but any modern ones forget it trsut me and if you dont trust me trust Chantelle shes by far the most know how in that department on this board.
What you or your friend might have done is get a seperate graphics card, if you are thinking of getting that PC definateley get a graphics card IF you want to play games.
if you DONT want to play games keep it as it is but id up to core 2 duo at least just for longevity.

Yea m8 drop the pentium chip.. its just a budget downgrade from the core 2 duo. listen to the girls here m8
A nice cheap core 2 duo is the E7300 (i have it) and graphics cards are so damn cheap these days.. the OS... well lets just say that for a 4gb system on a 64bit OS, (the 4gb will be fine though)its ok.. not much applications are going to work with it though. i think they are making progress with the drivers though.#
with 32bit OS's you only get to use 3gb or 3.5 in some cases.. thats all the OS can handle im afriad.. and that includes video ram as well m8. you can survive on 2gb or 3.. i have 4gb.. i dont notice any difference really.. but i will upgrade to a 64bit OS soon.
Takr the advice of the girls here.. my setup cost me 290..which is around 430$.
Thats:
CPU: E7300 core 2 duo at 2.66ghz (oc to 3.0ghz)
ram: 4gb RAM at 667 Mhz
Card: 9600GT
Motherboard: Biostar P35D2-A7
such a cheap upgrade and worth it

and means you still have money left for a PSU etc
Think about it though.

ive never had any combatability problems while using vista x64. any 32 bit software gets installed to a folder called "Prodram Files (x86)" but thats the only difference. all have run fine.
the only problem is the quicktime plugin doesnt quite fit right. instead of having the status bar with the control slider and play button, its just a black bar. but theyre working on it.

ya then that setup should suit u for a while. just be careful with windows 7, its probably gonna be rendered completely in 3d like vista, but better, so make sure u know wut ur up against in the 3d department

4GB on 64bit = 2GB on 32bit
Some people do go through without compatability issues, I have come across a few and also some drivers are a pig to obtain.
I just do not see the advantage to go over yet.

Seriously no need for that
All I were saying was if you wanted to get games you could incorporate a seperate card
People only make suggestions because they are knowledgeable and offer advice, it wasnt specified it was purchased.
Like Squall says that ..
No actually ill be blunt down right rude.

i figure that if 64 bit ends up becoming default, ill be ahead of the game and wont have to reconfigure for 64 bit software. im trying to keep this computer for about 4-5 years so anything on the higher end that will keep me from upgrading later would help. i think its a good decision to go 64 bit.
besides, os x leaopard is 64 bit, so theyre already starting the default.

apart from the processor (for longevity and more powerful stuff etc) its fine,
As Mel said if you want to play more powerful games you can probably stick a graphics card in as an option.
The 64bit is tit for tat.. you may find your gonna face issues you may find your not
64 bit on windows will only become default on windows 7. Vista isnt going to take off with 64.. Thats not Mss fault (apart from pushing it themselvees) once again lazy developers.

Im sorry Melissa but I told you this before
When it comes to PC advice irrespective of your pro expereince which I can call you now since your qualified..
I felt people here have been rude and unappreciating to Chantelle in the past and while its up to her I havent been happy with it.. She has in the past gone out of her way alot even while working to find and help people here and yet she still has been on the recieving end of rude comments, which for peoples information has upset her.
I am not having a go at any individuals here but I have had to say whats been said, Chantelle is too nice sometimes to stand up for herself.
Especially in her condition.
Melissa if you want take heed and tbh id not get involved anymore.
So the moderators can feel free to go ahead and lock this but I have said what I need to say. She (Chantelle) has been upset and not responded by unappreciating comments at her sometimes.
