I think the best one has to be this:
the reason John McCain lost was because the media was so left sided throughout the whole campaign and it’s disgusting!!! The sad thing is that people don’t realize what they just voted for. Obama is socialist and will destroy this great country! Please look the facts up, he hates whites and hangs around with terrorists. Say goodbye to our freedoms in January. Enjoy it while it lasts:(
Crazy B*TCH!

It's quite funny that these people accuse the rest of us for not paying attention when their only reasons for not voting Obama do not hold water in any reality.

All of these reasons have been proven wrong time and time again.

He is not a Muslim, but even if he were...why is this bad?

Muslim schools? Please. The President now doesn't even have the power to make Christian schools.

Socialist? If anyone was paying attention while voting you would have noticed the Socialist Party on the Ballot with their own candidates, ones who have spoken out against both Obama and McCain for their Capitalistic policies.

You should do your homework because if you think Obama is a Socialist...not only are you wrong but it appears you can't think for yourself since you just take to saying an untruthful soundbyte. Find out what Socialistism is first and then accuse (which you won't haha because Obama isn't lol)

You don't like his Abortion view? You mean his view of wanting to enforce the law we have now? The law we have all been living with since Roe V Wade was passed? The Law the Bush didn't overturn in his 8 years in office?

Most people don't understand that Obama does not want to change anything in the Abortion area, While Palin DID want to overturn Roe V Wade and therefore change the law, and take away our privacy (which is the corner stone of Roe V Wade.)

Also Obama does not believe in gay marriage, just like mccain, palin and biden.

So then how would voting for him damn you to hell I ask?

to quote someone who these people look up to:

"First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor's eye.""
-Jesus

These people keep using God as a shield for their own fear, and that is what is the most disgusting part of this whole story.

The say they are doing work for God, but dragging his name through and nailing him to all these hateful topics and policies...kinda seems like something the devil would do or want.

These people might want to reevaluate how they go about "spreading God's Word of Love"

Because all I'm hearing is hate.

I read some more of the posts and I reminded myself of something that happened to me in college.

I was driving in New Mexico and it was about a month before the election for Bush's second term. I was on max overdrive politically (much like I was yesterday and last month) when I saw a huge sign outside some ranchers home which read:

BUSH FOR PRESIDENT
IT IS GOD'S WILL

I wanted to puke right there I felt so nauseous.

This? This is what you call God's Will?

I have been through whatever emotions you (as in McCain supporters) are going through twice (and probably then some), so don't come crying to me.

Both times I had to pick myself up and carry on knowing that distress was coming our way.

And the thing that stings the most is, I was right. All of us who spoke out and voted against Bush were right. Bush was a terrible choice and should not EVER have been president.

So before you go calling Obama a mistake. Give him a chance is all I'm freaking asking.

meanwhile I thought this is funny:

http://wonkette.com/404192/gore-vidal-y ... -followers

I don't mean any disrespect to English people, but two old men going back and forth like these two and with old English accents...it just seems like something from Monty Python or something haha.

Yeah that Gore vidal video is awful lol.. is he drunk? your right the accent is really cringy!!

I agree though I dont want to tarnish all McCain supoprters with the same brush here so ill be careful but.

It seems that alot of them who speak out are either:

1) Have no idea about the politics, policies

2) think its all to do with religion, and that jesus and god are involved and that this non caucasian politicion is a spawn of satan

3) Love the propaganad bandwagon and believe ridiculous stories

4) Just plain racist and ignorants who have yet to come into the 20th let alone 21st century.. These are the sero type that gives US a bad name...

Doesnt seem to be many talking politics anyway.. im sure there are some who just prefer the policies etc..

They dont paint a good picture for the republicans anyway

I think you summed it all up

95% of those McCain supporters there I wager had no idea about any of each Candidates policies. THey just had some dodgy rumours or an excuse to hate.

They might aswell have had

Obama is rubbish because YOUR MOMMAS SO FAT....... etc

There is little political substance in their argument, only bitterness hatred which seems to have been brewed in poor education or inheritance..

You RaVeN however are an example of whats right about US citizens, your thinking whats right for you and the people of US...

haha thanks Chantelle but I'm not alone, at least here and definitely not in NYC. I know there are several members on these forums that are American and that agree with me (agree mostly).

I've been reading news article after article and watching videos about the world's reaction to Obama's victory.

Many are comparing it to the world response we got after the 9/11 attacks - but in a pure positive light this time as opposed to sympathetic.

Others say that it seems that America has been given a clean slate, so to speak. A chance to get it right this time around.

I'm greatly overjoyed at the prospect that many countries and people around the world are willing to put aside the bush years so quickly, and sincerely starting to look at America in a whole new light.

Words do not do me justice in describing how happy and humbled I am because of the last 24 hours. And not just because of Obama winning, haha that's not the amazing part. It is everything that is amazing that is bundled with it. The history, the symbolism, the irony, the chance, the story, the change, the struggle and the hope.

But the most amazing part is the realization. The realization that all of this, all of it took place in a day, floors me.

"What a difference a day makes"

Been thinking about this but theres alot of references from Christian relgions etc..

Surely it isn't very Christian to say people will burn in hell and how could a non white man lead the country..

Almost ironic, they go that far they become the thing they hate and cease to believe in what they are fanatic about, they also break some of the commandments or at least have notion to do so.
