I do now and I thought it would be fun to make a little competition topic to see who has the highest Vista rating.

If you dont know what it is then go to my computer and across the top ribbon is a link called "system properties" click on it and about halfway down should be a number in a box, click the link next to it and then click "update my score" which is under the box with the number in it, it will take a few minutes to do :)

So yep, post your individual scores and your base score at the bottom :)

Mine:

Processor: 5.4
Memory (RAM): 5.9
Graphics: 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 5.9
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
Base Score: 5.4

Heres the code if you wanna make it look pretty :D
Code: Select all
Processor:
Memory (RAM):
Graphics:
Gaming Graphics:
Primary Hard Disk:
Base Score:

I dont think you have to get much to get it to 5.9 in some areas

my ancient grahpics card got 5.9 in both :s

Well, it showed me this score and I dont know what's the max.
I've got the ATI Radeon 4850HD, Core 2 Quad 2.33GHz, 4GB RAM and it showed me the 5.9. I wonder what will the best score mean? 6GB RAM for example?

again 4 or 6 GB ram is redundant on 32bit vista. it wouldnt work properly and woudlnt make any difference whatsoever.

as said to get 5.9 scores you often do not need teh cutting edge stuff.. a 7000 series nvidia will likeley get 5.9

i got an average 5 for everything except my graphics card which is only an nvidia 256mb card cuz the 512 card eats battery and i dont get much battery already. i just got this laptop last week with 64bit windows vista home premium and 4gb of ram. base score is 3.5 cuz of the graphics card. but even so, i was able to run unreal tournament full visual everything with 0 lag. im chasing down crysis atm to see how this laptop really runs

your never going to get a 5+ score with a laptop video card.. the 512/256 is kinda irrelevant really its down to the processing power but laptops just dont have teh size and cooling capacity to stick a whopper in like a desktop.

I seen them, like the XPSs from Dell

they are huge

I wouldnt call that a portable computer!!

That would score 5.9 though definatelety

Although the laptop market isnt as you say going to get gaming scores or game well..

Even that 9800 in that laptop I bet its cut down somewhat.. not that the 9800 full was that good, the chassis isnt capable of the heat.

Incidentally if you ever see a shot of like 9.9s on vista its all fake
