Has anyone played the Demonstration yet?

I haven't but I have heard mixed feelings, you get your wow brilliants ect, although there's alot of disaappointed reviews on it.

I have been reserved about it ill admit. I do think its over hype will be its downfall in that its not going to be good as the videos perhaps expect.

Only the PS3 might have anything near the graphics it shows, PC could obviously do it, Wii and xbox will look disappointing aesthetically.

I will wait and see however. I just dont think its going to be as awesome as everyone expects, but still good nether the less.

I've played the demo. Here is what I wrote about it in a members area on these forums:
RaVeN wrote:I've played the demo of Unleashed.

It's definately not coming to the computer, or if it does it wont be multiplayer.

It's a hackn'slash game that involves no saber skill. You can combine your force powers into you saber attack, sure, but your saber attack is the same three moves over and over again...therefore the multiplayer aspect of it would be very boring.

and you only get to use the single saber which is already very boring.

Anyone played Heavenly Sword for the PS3? It's a lot like that game, (including the pre animated "finish him" scenes when killing a boss) just less skill is needed to play Unleashed...
and I had no trouble beating Heavenly Sword.

...and I had such high hopes for this game...it had so much potential.
After my post someone said (basically):

"Well it's just a demo, don't judge the full game by the demo."

Here is my reply:
RaVeN wrote: True it's only a demo, but I got to play about half a level of the real game and got to experience the game's overall feel. So I don't think the game would change MUCH when it's actually released...

Sure, being able to blow away a crowd of people was fun like the first 5 times. After that it kinda became a pain...like "Ergh, get out of my way"

Using the saber got old after I did the same moves over and over again. (BTW I don't know why a stormtropper can take 3 hits with a light saber.)

Lighting...is not much different from JKA.

Grip is fun, not at all accurate, but fun.

I'm not saying it is a bad game, or not entertaining. And it's true that it has a difficulty setting, and I'm more than positive it will get more challenging with level progression. But the basics aren't going to change.

Basically...a demo should blow you away and keep you begging for more.

I was not in a begging mood when I finished.

However, I did want to play Heavenly Sword again.

EDIT: BTW I'm still pretty sure I'm going to get the game when it comes out anyway. I just wanted it to be something so much more. And it, unlike others, had the chance to do it.
*as a side note, I demo-ed the game on my roommate's PS3

Your review replicates my entire reservations and relalistic expectatiosn of the game.

I have made an exerted effort not to get carried away with the hype and teh aura shown from the videos.

Sure they look great but can that be actually put into a decent game it looked a little too much for the current level of gaming we have.

A step forward however.

There is a multiplayer duel mode

That is Wii only however,

Again In theory sounds good, but I bet its kinda swing the remote and get lucky 1st..

I do think a PC game would require a bit more than hack n slash as you say.

i played the demo, and to put it in short, after about a min of playin it, i didnt like it one bit, to be a starwars game, is all about the light saber, and that isnt very fun, even when u combine it with force powers and stuff, however, like rav said it is only a demo, but its not a game i will be buying

Thats the concern, since its primarily aimed at consoles its ewasy to give it a arcade style game play.. Not that all console games are like that. Just there is alot like that.

Still hope to see the final thing.

IMHO this was never going to superseed JA anyway in that route.. We hope that there is another project on the horizon

THere is another lightsaber game on the Wii which is based on teh clone film.. although again... is that gonna be any good :? I am sceptical!!

i've also played the demo for ps3.. its very good grapics wise cause of its 3 engines: Euphoria, Havok and Dmm..
i have been waiting for this game so very long, but i have been disappointed because the game only has 4 planets :S wusup with that.. i hope that the 4 planets are big and not a small planet wich you can complete in a half an hour

i really hope this is not a game wich you can complete within a day if you rush it.. :S but it is a hack n slash and we all know they don't have much depth..

story wise it will be very good, worthy of being equal to the movies..it has multiple endings, wich will be 2 i presume.. one of redemption to the light side or stay on the dark side, hope there are more!

Overall,
i think it is a good game only cause of the sick grapics and cause im a Star Wars fan.. but they could have done so much more..with the depthness of the game instead of just pimpin the graphics and story

Didnt LA say it wont run on a PC? They must think people are dumb.

You get your high end PC or even Midish range and that would out perform a PS3.

Keep going on about thier euphoria engine.. Despite the games bad coding have they seen crysis engine??? helloooo much better!

ghehe indeed.,. the crysis engine..is indeed one top notch engine.. but force unleashed for a console game, is one of the first that has 3engines in a game.. but thats it.. and yeah your right.. that dumb fuzzer from the interviews.. always keeps talking about their stupid engines every single time a see an interview he keeps saying it.. GOSH!! we know allrdy..

and when some one ask him a real question: How many planets does the game have.. he says: we got some planets, for instance the rubble planet, ow look i can do this with the char blabla... just answer the question and dont start another subject..

ive noticed'that alot of game company's do that, start another subject when they are asked a sertend question..
