As eternal as the rivalry between the
Jedi and Sith parallels good versus evil,
the rivalry between siblings can last but one
generation…

SCENE 01 : Concord Dawn late morning

Set to the music of the Star Wars anthem, we fade the crawl across a starscape down to a blue sky then across a wide landscape to a majestic hill on the planet "Concord Dawn," their home world to the two fighters dueling with lightsabers, Dwen and Auralis Oriol. We see them fight to a relative stalemate. Multiple camera angles, some in close, but most from a wide distance to see both of them, full body. The camera then pans and slowly focuses on a girl, watching with rapture. She isn't smiling, but her aloof look makes her appearance daughtingly bright and happy. As the camera points at her, we hear the clash of sabers from behind (Multi-channel sound will reflect this). The camera then focuses on three older men, wearing the classic Jedi Master paraphernalia. The tallest one, Invar, looks at the shortest one, Tridge, and they exchange admirable looks at their students, locked in combat. Finally, Invar claps his hands to stop the joust and steps forward, placing his arm on Dwen.

Invar: "You try too much. You need to do…"
Dwen: "I know."
Invar: "Do less."
Dwen: "Less?"
Invar: "You are a talented padawan, and your skills with the force are amazing. I am positive you can pilot a starfighter or slice a computer as easily as you wield your blade. But you think of the force as some giant object you are trying to sit inside of."
Dwen: "I am not supposed to become one with the force?"
Invar: "The force is in you, and you are in the force. Being one is a matter of opinion, not of training. Just be the force."

Camera shows Dwen close his eyes and concentrate. After a pause, Invar's voice continues

Invar: "Feel it flow through you. Let go of your struggle and concentrate on the fight. Through relaxation, the force will come to you just as you go to it."
Dwen opens his eyes and leers directly forward.
Dwen: "Will I be stronger?"
Invar: "Your muscles are weaker than your brother's. But your force skill is the same."
Dwen: "I shall do my best, Master Invar."

The camera pans to Auralis, who has stopped to wink at the girl. She looks up at him and a coy smile crosses her face, as the camera catches her lightly blush. Auralis turns to talk to Tridge.

Tridge: "Even though your brother and you share the same skill for the force and similar physical speed, you are stronger, bigger, and have more experience. We have trained together many more times than he has with you or Invar. Yet you haven't defeated him or even gained an edge. Why?"
Auralis: "Because I haven't done my best?"
Tridge: "Neither has he. But that's only half the problem. The real problem is you are trying to use the force."
Auralis: "Isn't that what I am supposed to do?"
Tridge: "No. You are supposed to feel the force and let it use you. Just guide your mind and the force will follow with your body in tow."
Auralis: "Yes master."
Tridge: "Remember, the force is a way of life; I am a servant to it. It's not a club you can swing like a lightsaber."
Auralis: "Yes master."
Tridge: "Now, focus on the force, not your brother. He is weaker than you. For him, defeating you is not the goal. He is young. His goal is to master the force, as yours should be. You can defeat him if you apply yourself to the force. Don't try to apply the force to the fight. Just let go and feel it flow through the air, your mind, and this place. You will do alright."
Auralis: "I will not let you down, Master Tridge."

The camera is now backed off, and shows the girl circling the perimeter of the "fight zone." We now see the girl is wearing a lightsaber. She is dressed the same as the masters is flowing Jedi robes. The two boys, fighting in the center, are wearing much sleeker white Jedi clothing.

The third master, who as yet has not spoken, pauses to look at the other two.

Graas: "Your boys look impressive."
Tridge: "Why doesn't Hiryilia train with them."
Graas: "Because she is to go to the trials soon. The council has requested her."
Invar: "She is strong in the force."

The boys resume their duel, with multiple cameras recording various angles. The soundtrack to this fight is the song "Thunderkiss '65" by White Zombie. Just as Dwen and Auralis are having fun dueling, the camera crew can have fun with artistic and neauveau style shots. Post will edit them together. The stunt choreography on this scene is KEY to set the ENTIRE mood of the film.

SCENE 02 : Concord Dawn

Graas is waiting in a solemn room alone on Concord Dawn. Outside, waiting patiently by the door, stand Auralis, Dwen, and Tridge. After an awkward moment of apprehension, Hiryilia and Invar approach from the distance.
Auralis: “Well?”
H: “Well of course I passed!! Was there ever any doubt?”
(Hiryilia has a cute smile, looking into Auralis’ eyes. Auralis and Dwen chuckle.)
Dwen: “No, of course there wasn’t.”
Invar: “Nor was there by the council. She did exceptionally well.”

Hiryilia walks into the room with Graas. The two exchange pleasantries inside while the camera stays with Auralis, Dwen, Tridge and Invar.

Dwen: “So, she did really well?”
Invar: “I’m sure Graas is very proud of her.”
Auralis: “I am very proud of her.”
Tridge: “For Graas Ungunal, today was very important. Hiryilia was not his first student.”
Auralis: “She wasn’t? Why have we never met the other…”
Invar: “No, he had another student before. Before he came here to Concord Dawn.”
Dwen: “Who?”
Tridge: “A fallen Jedi. Fallen to the Dark Side of the Force.”
Auralis: “Did he die at Yavin with the Sith?”
Invar: “No. He was trained only a few years ago. A good student, but he was seduced by the passion of a Dark Coven on Dathomir. Graas made an attempt to rescue him from the dark side, but was lucky to escape Dathomir with his life. If he had taught Madune one thing very well, it was to wield a saber.”
Dwen: “What happened on Dathomir?”
Tridge: “Graas doesn’t like to talk about it. Few people, Jedi or not, like to discuss a loss so personal.”
Auralis: “I would like to ask a question on that subject.”
Dwen finishes his brother’s sentence.
Dwen: “What happened to our father?”
Tridge: “Your father, and for that matter, myself and Invar here were all Jedi Knights during the Great Sith war many years ago. With rapt fascination, we distanced ourselves as Freedon Nadd diminished the number of Sith.”
Invar: “But after the war, the academy we had all trained at as children was home to a proud young padawan named Exar Kun. He was seduced by the fallen spirit of Nadd, and turned to the dark side. He proved to be very formidable.”
Tridge: “His strength was great, and he actually enslaved the whole of the Massassi peoples on Yavin IV as his own. He struck at the Republic, and Jedi’s were dispatched to confront him. All who faced him died. Among them were many we trained with at the academy, but no one we really ‘knew’.”
Invar: “Then came the great battle. Your father, Omnihil, and for that matter, Hiryilia’s mother and father, Cyel and Jins, also Jedi Knights, were called upon, along with us and several thousand others to go to Yavin IV and eliminate Kun, at all costs.”
Tridge: “Many of the Jedi were irate at the idea we were supposed to merely wipe the planet clean of life, innocent life. We ventured to the surface, and it was there, by Kun’s hand, many of us perished.”
Invar: “Tridge, Graas, myself, and only a few others made it back to the ship. It was from orbit that we, the thousands of remaining Jedi, used the power of the Force to wipe all life off the planet.”
Tridge: “A firestorm destroyed the planet, consumed Kun and all his followers. Few have returned to Yavin IV since.”
Invar: “Those were solemn days for the Jedi. Moments in history that we are not eager to repeat.”

SCENE 03 : Concord Dawn

Auralis and Dwen are sitting in old chairs in a barren shop like room, polishing their lightsabers when Invar, Graas, & Tridge arrive. Invar sits with Auralis.

Invar: "You have caught the eye of the council. They wish to see you as they saw Hiryilia. It's time to test as a Jedi."
Graas: "Invar and I will accompany you to the trials; we need to go before the council as well."
Auralis: "You're not coming with me Tridge?"
Tridge: "The code does not forbid me from going with you, but I don't think you need me there. You're a stronger man than that."

With a mild solace, Auralis departs with Invar and Graas.

In a new landscape, definitely a different one than all the others (Perhaps a neighboring eucalyptus Forrest?) a shadowy figure is lurking but unseen. Invar looks at Auralis.

Invar: "The shuttle is just over the..."
Auralis: "Sir?"
Graas: "Something is not right. Something is very wrong... ...dark."

Auralis reaches for his saber. Invar unsheathes his but does not ignite it. Graas stops to turn and look into the forest, which is still, yet cracks and sounds, are apparent.

The Imperial Death march begins to play.

At last, a cloaked figure appears from the forest and draws his blade only after both Jedi Masters swing theirs open. The red saber of the dark one swings at the three Jedi's who counter. After a brief soirée with Auralis, the dark one uses a force strike to knock him away and spins into a strike against Invar. He fights both Invar and Graas simultaneously. As the three duel, it becomes obvious all have vigor, but Auralis struggles to regain his footing and fight with the dark one.

The heated duel strikes into a crescendo as the dark one knocks Invar away with a beautiful butterfly kick, then becomes engrossed in one of the most phenomenal matches ever caught on film with Graas.
The match finishes with the dark one ducking beneath a wild blow by the charging Invar that hits Graas on the arm. Invar, in shock over accidentally hitting his friend, pauses for a split second, and has his blade snapped out of his hand as he is kicked away. The dark one stabs backwards at Graas, killing him and taking up his blade to the defenseless Invar. Invar tries to use the force to pull his saber to him, but the dark one brings forward his left hand in a gesture of “no.”

Invar: “If you strike me down, I…”

The dark one slashes him down, mid-sentence.
The dark one pulls his hood back and looks at Auralis who is on his hands and knees spitting blood out of his mouth by a record amount. The dark one walks to Invar's body, grabs his lightsaber and puts it in a deep pocket. He then looks up at Auralis and grabs his lightsaber off the ground. Walking to Auralis, he places the saber with the young man.
Auralis takes the saber from the dark one, and with an apprehensive look he ignites it.

(Rob Zombie - Devil Man)
Avoht: "Ignite it."
Auralis: "Why."
Avoht: "Because you want me to die."

Auralis charges Avoht who fights with much less bravado than he did against Invar. Avoht is purely defensive.
After a couple of jousts, Avoht speaks.

Avoht: "You are too strong for me. Your anger is driving you and I am no match."

Auralis strikes again, hatred gleaming in his eyes.

Avoht: "Now, strike me down. Your power will be at its greatest then."

Auralis pares a strike from Avoht and powers through several others, bringing his blade back up at a cross to him.

Avoht: "You are strong. Really strong. Only with anger at your side. You fought me without anger but with fear, with brasche confidence, or maybe with Jedi pride, and you lost. Now, with anger, I cannot defeat you."

Avoht pauses for dramatic effect.

Avoht: "Come with me. I will complete your training."
Auralis: "No!"
Avoht: "Do you care for your brother?"
Auralis: "Of course!"
Avoht: "Then you want him to be powerful."
Auralis: "I want you to die."
Avoht: "Listen to yourself. You are my servant already."

Auralis strikes hard, trying to hold a clash. During the crash, struggling, Avoht looks up.

Avoht: "The dark side isn't about hatred or anger or murder..."

Avoht shoves Auralis off like a toy. Auralis steps back as Avoht continues.

Avoht: "It's about power. I could give it to you, and you could give it to your brother. Now join me!"

Auralis backs off, exhausted.

Auralis: "Why should I…"
Avoht: "You could be a good Jedi. But you will be a great Sith. Overwhelming power is tempting."
Auralis: "If that was all the Sith were about, the Jedi wouldn't have died by the hundred to wipe them out."
Avoht: "The Jedi fought the Sith because they didn't understand them. No more, no less."
Auralis: "I don't want to be a dark Jedi. I don't want to be you. All I have ever wanted was to learn, to be the best."
Avoht: "No more, no less."

Auralis thinks to himself. Perhaps he should learn the way of the Sith, then return to his brother and show him the way as a light side Jedi. He reluctantly closes his blade down. The scene closes.

SCENE 04 : Concord Dawn

Tridge and Dwen are confronted by Hiryilia.

H: "What happened to Invar, Graas and Auralis?"
Tridge: "Did Auralis fail the trials?"
H: "No, he never made it to them. I was told this morning by Vema Sunrider, she never met any of them."
Dwen: "What?"
H: "They never made it. The council only said we were to see to it Dwen completed his training."
Tridge: "Lets find them."

The three venture into the woods. Finally, Hiryilia comes upon the body of Graas.

H: "Tridge, Dwen..." Her voice is trembling in shock.

Tridge and Dwen rush to the side of Graas, fallen. Nearby is Invar. Dwen rushes to his master's side. There is no sign of Auralis except for a small puddle of blood.

Dwen: "Would he have given himself to the force?"
Tridge: "I hadn't told him of it. That is something a Jedi Master learns in a moment of clarity."
H: "Then is he gone?"

Dwen hangs his head down.

H: "You know what Auralis means to me. But I don't think he's alive."
Tridge: "He was close to me. But I feel him no more. Somehow, I don't think there is an Auralis anymore."

Dwen kneels and starts to well up with tears.

Tridge: "The council decreed you will finish your training. I will see to it, Dwen."
Dwen: "I must complete my training."

Dwen rises up to stand tall.

Tridge: "Don't feel like you must just so you can avenge your brother."
Dwen: "No, not for revenge. I must because I know he would want me to."

Dwen kneels back down and Hiryilia hugs him.

SCENE 05: Yavin IV

Auralis looks at Avoht.
Auralis: “So where are we? What are we doing here?”
Avoht: “This is a place of great Sith energy. It was here where Freedon Nadd’s holocron shattered, and I was granted power.”
Auralis: “Interesting. This place seems awful humid for a desert…”
Avoht: “This wasn’t always a desert. Twenty years ago, this was all lush jungle… Before the Jedi came and wiped it all out.”
Avoht reveals a small glass globe and squeezes. A hologram of a lush jungle forest appears.
Avoht: “Yavin IV was a beautiful planet. And despite the indigenous people, and the jungles teeming with life, the Jedi destroyed it all just to vanquish the galaxy of one man.”
Auralis: “Kun.” It was more a whisper than a statement.

SCENE 06: Concord Dawn

We fade into a scene of a calm Dwen sitting with Hiryilia and Tridge. Master Tridge gets up and reveals his saber.

Tridge: "Your mind is clear, the force is very focused and strong in and around you. Yet while you have speed as an ally, strength you do not."
Dwen: "Should it matter as I am an ally of the force?"
Tridge: "It matters very little. But it matters none the less."
H: "He's right about one thing. You are weak. I bet I can beat you up."
Dwen: "Remember, speed is my ally."
Tridge: "Both of you know how to fight. So it is time to test your skills against a Jedi less forgiving than I, Dwen."

With that, Dwen and Hiryilia ignite sabers and duel. After being knocked back and overpowered by a girl, Dwen does a butterfly, three twirls, and a flip off a low-lying tree branch to avoid and confuse the young Jedi before drawing his saber up in victory.

Tridge: "Very good!"
Dwen: "Power means little. Even the force must cede it's will to the power of the mind."

SCENE 07: Yavin IV

We dissolve to the other brother, Auralis, training in some open scrub land.

Avoht: "Your brother must be a man of strong character."
Auralis: "Why do you say that?"
Avoht: "Because had he been hurt by your disappearance, I am sure a Jedi of his skill could have found you by now."
Auralis: "He surely assumes me dead."
Avoht: "How so? There was no body."
Auralis: "You slayed two friends of mine. Do not make me think of this. I will abandon this training right now. In spite of all you've done for me here, I still don't like you."
Avoht: "Fair enough. I just wonder why he hasn't found you, that's all."
Auralis: "Perhaps he will."
Avoht: "Perhaps he is with your girlfriend, and perhaps she has a strong enough character to have moved on without you as well."
Auralis: "My brother would never..."
Avoht: "Never do what? Give up on the chance of finding his brother?"
(Avoht glares at Auralis.)
Avoht: "Then where is he?"
Auralis: "Still. She would never."
Avoht: "Perhaps not with your brother, no."
Auralis: "I don't want to think about it. I don't understand why I don't return to them."
Avoht: "You aren't ready. When Ulic Qel Droma returned to his brother before he was ready, Cay was scared and attacked Ulic. Ulic was forced to kill his own brother."
(Avoht shakes his head.)
Avoht: "No, you mustn't risk being killed when you are still training. You will be ready very soon."
Auralis: "My brother would never give up on me."
Avoht: "You are right. Now isn't the time to discuss him. Like us, he is probably busy training."

Auralis hangs his head in shame. In his mind, he calls to his father. It was here that Invar and Tridge had told him his father had parished. Auralis walked away, and muttered, sadly.
Auralis: "Where are you father? Why won’t you help me?"

SCENE 08: Concord Dawn

Tridge walks into a room where Dwen is solemnly polishing his saber.

Tridge: "The council will see you now."
Dwen: "Do you have confidence in me?"
Tridge: "Of course. I am sure you will do very well."
Dwen: "Did you have confidence in Auralis?"
Tridge: "Yes, very much so."
Dwen somberly bows his head in contempt.
Tridge: "I'd be lying if I said you were stronger than your brother. But you are as strong. And I had great faith in him. Just like I do in you."
Dwen: "I understand, my master."
Tridge: "Now, go to Coruscant and make me... No, make your mother very proud."
(Tridge nods lightly.)
Tridge: "I will be waiting right here for your return."
(Dwen leaves the room. Hiryilia is waiting outside.)
H: "The shuttle is prepped. I am surprised you aren't happier?"
Dwen: "Today, Invar should have told me I was to go to the trials. And Auralis should have been the pilot."
H: "Worry not, Dwen. All shall be okay."

SCENE 09: Yavin IV

(Auralis has a moment of reflection as he stairs at him self in a pool of water on the ground)

Auralis (voice over) “Is this really me? What am I doing here? Where is dad? What does Avoht want from me? To help me? Or destroy me?

SCENE 10: Yavin IV

Auralis and Avoht are eating, outdoors.

Auralis: "When will I be ready?"
Avoht: "When you quit letting go."
Auralis: "Of what, the force?"
Avoht: "No, your fears."
Auralis: "Won't that weaken me?"
Avoht: "Fear is for the weak, yes, but fear is something we all have, even the strongest of Jedi. Fear inspires respect and anger though. Respect is power and anger is a strong emotion, an emotion that drives power."
Auralis: "Should I fear what though?"
Avoht: "Nothing or no one else."
(In exasperations, Auralis shakes his head.)
Auralis: "Then what?"
Avoht: "Yourself. Yourself and your failures."
Auralis: "I already fear myself."
Avoht: "Why is that?"
Auralis: "For agreeing to enhance my power at the hands of a Sith."
Avoht: "Have you not achieved power?"
Auralis: "Yes."
Avoht: "Have I not held up my end of the bargain?"
Auralis: "Yes, you have."
Avoht: "Then you must hold up yours. Complete your journey. Infinite power awaits."
Auralis: "But I have no hatred."
Avoht: "Do you?"
Auralis: "I hate nothing."
Avoht: "Your girlfriend accompanied your brother to the trials."
(Auralis spat the answer back.)
Auralis: "That means nothing."
Avoht: "Perhaps it doesn't. But Tridge is only now to take another Padawan. He completed your brother's training."
Auralis: "Good for him."
Avoht: "It figures you would be proud."
Auralis: "Why?"
Avoht: "Because in your absence, it is obvious he has become you."
(Auralis dips his head in anger, a look of hatred welling on his face.)
Avoht: "Your training is nearly complete."
Auralis: "Yes."
Avoht: "And so in Sith tradition, you have the option to take on a new name."
Auralis: "I am Auralis.”
Avoht: “So is Dwen.”
Auralis: “My father should have slain you.”
Avoht: “And now your father is a concern? Where has he been?”
Auralis: “He died trying to rid the universe of your confusion. I honor that.”
Avoht: “Interesting. I find it funny you know so much about your father without seeing him in over fifteen years.”
Auarlis: “How would you know how long?”
Avoht: “The Sith is a way to understanding. Power is knowledge as well as strength.”
Auralis: “Maybe my brother will carry on our family tradition. Maybe he’ll slay you.”
Avoht: “Oh, wouldn’t that be funny, as you once tried the same thing. Maybe he’ll slay you too. If the face in the mirror doesn’t slow him down.”
Auralis: “You challenge my loyalty.”
Avoht: “I open your eyes.”
Auralis: “And you know of Dwen?”
Avoht: “I knew of your father. And you doubt your brother.”
Auralis hangs his head.
Auralis: “If Dwen wants to be me so badly, he can have my name too."
Tagnos: "Now, I shall be Tagnos."
Avoht: "Darth Tagnos. You are my apprentice and a strong Lord of the Sith, Tagnos."

SCENE 11: Concord Dawn

Dwen walks into his home on Concord Dawn. His mother and Tridge are waiting for him.

Tridge: "Congratulations on your success at the trials. Hiryilia says you did better than any have in several hundred years."
Dwen: "I just tried to keep my mind sharp and attuned to the Force as you taught me, Master."
Tridge: "I am no longer your Master, Dwen. I am just a Jedi Master, and you are now a Jedi Knight."
Mother: "Your father would be so proud."
H: "As would your brother."

Camera fades out as Dwen's smile fades into a solemn smirk.

SCENE 12: Yavin IV

Avoht looks at Tagnos and nods.
Avoht: “It is time.”
Tagnos: “More training?”
Avoht: “No. To return to Concord Dawn. Your training is complete. You are a Sith Lord. You are ready to face your brother, your master, your old life.”
Tagnos: “Yes. I am ready.”

SCENE 13: Concord Dawn

Dwen, Tridge, and Hiryilia are together,

H: “Beautiful day today”
Dwen: “Yes. I should have brought mom out here. She would love the view.”
Tridge: “Dwen ready for some fun?”
Dwen rises to his feet.
Dwen: “You mean training? I thought I was done with that.”
Tridge: “You are. Now it is just fun, to keep us in tune.”
Dwen: “Always ready for that, sir.”

SCENE 14: Concord Dawn

M: “Auralis!!! (Mom exclaims) You’re alive! Where have you been? I have missed you!”
Tagnos: (with a smile Tagnos walks towards his mother) “Good to see you to mom.” (Walks over to counter and runs finger along it) “Where is Dwen?”
M: “He is out with Hiryilia and master Tridge... Why?”
(Tagnos Gets a twitch in his left eye)
M: “Well when he thought you died, Tridge took Dwen on to train him just as he had trained you."
Tagnos: "Ahhh."
M: "Yes, he passed the trials well. You would have been so proud. Just as we always expected you to do, he turned out as a Jedi."
Mom pauses.
M: "Are you going to complete the training and become a Jedi like your brother?"
Tagnos is agitated and his eyes glare as his look becomes condescending.
Tagnos: "Where is Dwen?"
M: "Well, Hiryilia and he left about an hour ago. They couldn't have gotten far."
Tagnos: "How are they?" Tagnos emphasizes they "they" to be a strong statement.
Avoht is outside, smirking, listening to his apprentice fall further down the spiral of darkness.
M: "They have been inseparable since you left. Oh god, Auralis, its so good to see you."
On the news that "they" are Hiryilia and Dwen, Tagnos snaps.
Tagnos: "My name is Tagnos! Auralis is dead!"
M: "Auralis, are you okay?"
Mother trembles, fear now, as confusion sets into her eyes.
Tagnos: "The Auralis you speak of is either dead or is your other son now." Tagnos delivers the line with cold dead rage.
M: "What do you mean?" Confusion slathers the line, as she stutters lightly.
Tagnos: "You gave up on me too. You let him become me. Take away my life. Fill in my place."
M: "No, no! Auralis..."
Tagnos: "I told you, he's dead. No use in calling a dead man's name, or lying to me about Dwen taking my master, taking my girlfriend, and taking all of my mother's love."
M: "But Auralis!?!"
Tagnos: "SILENCE!" Tagnos throws a table against a wall. Mother begins to tremble uncontrollably.
Tagnos: "I said Auralis was dead. Well, if Dwen wants to be Auralis so much, he must die now."
M: "Auralis... NO!"
Tagnos opens his blade and slashes his mother down. The camera never shows the strike but the look of almost rapture like joy on Tagnos's face as he ends the conversation with a strong period.

SCENE 15: Concord Dawn

Avoht approaches Tridge, Hiryilia, and Dwen, just as he previously attacked Graas, Invar and Auralis to a successful conclusion.
Avoht is preoccupied fighting all three and can never make more than three aggressive moves against any opponent with his single blade before forced to defend against another. Finally, with fast movement and wicked aggression, Tridge and Dwen attack from opposite sides leaving Avoht's back to Hiryilia who plunges her blade deep through the dark lord.

H: “Who was that?”
Dwen: “You think it was a dark Jedi, Tridge?”
Tridge: (Kneeling down) “No… it was a Sith…. But why here...”
Dwen: “Or why now. Weren’t the last of the Sith killed in the great battle of Yavin?"
(Dwen pauses to look at the body and back at Tridge.)
Dwen: "Where my father died.”
Tridge: “I would never presume anything when it comes to the dark side."
(Honornine Look’s up) (sarcastic tone)
H: “I have spent most of my life alone and an orphan … my parents died fighting the Sith. I was hoping that all that hadn't been for naught."
Tridge: “I fought along side your parents… and your father. They were good people doing a good thing.” Hangs head down, then looks up, calm and cold “Thousands of Jedi died many of which I called friends."
Dwen: “I thought with the of striping of Qel-Droma’s power (Cocking head to side) and the death of Kun that the Sith had died with him.
Tridge: “I thought that too.”
H: “Apparently not” (Acidic tone)
T: “Perhaps Freedom Nadd had other students..." (Dodging the barb)
Dwen: "...Or an adversary for the Sith amulet that survived.”
Tridge: "Regardless, I hope that was the last for then we have destroyed the Sith on this day."
Hiryilia looks up from the body and looks past Tridge and notices Tagnos.
H: "AURALIS!!!!!!"

Tagnos arrives, in Jedi garb, and with arms open greets his brother, his old master, and his old girlfriend. Tridge runs forward and embraces Tagnos, and Tagnos opens his blade through Tridge, killing him. The camera looks over Tagnos' shoulder down at Tridge's face as he slides down the blade with a look of confusion on his face, uttering the words "Why" but unable to make a sound. Another camera angle shows the look on Tagnos' face, one of cold malice that fades to a sly grin. Tagnos looks up at his former girlfriend and his younger brother.

Dwen: (In shock) "Auralis… Why?”

Tagnos walks forward, fights Dwen and Hiryilia, disarms Hiryilia and passes up the opportunity to kill her. Then, after a very brief engagement, he decimates Dwen and goes to strike him down.

Hiryilia steps in between Tagnos & Dwen.
H: “If you want to kill him, you must kill me first.”
Tagnos closes his saber, and looks down at Dwen.
Tagnos: "Give my regards to Mother."
With that, Tagnos turns and closes his saber and walks away.

Hiryilia and Dwen rush home, where Dwen finds his mother, slain. He is distraught but Hiryilia calms him with a warm embrace and a Jedi calming technique.

SCENE 16: Concord Dawn

Hiryilia and Dwen are sitting on a hill over looking the landscape. Dwen is sitting with head down looking at his lap. Hiryilia is staring off in the distance. Dwen turns and looks at Hiryilia.

Dwen: “So is this how it has always felt? …”
H: “…To be an orphan?”
Dwen: “To be alone.”
(Hiryilia puts her hand on top of Dwen’s)
H: “You're not alone.”
Dwen: “That is not what I meant … You have always been there for me... You are my best friend. I never had a chance to know my father; he went with your parents when I was very young, b-but there was always Invar." Dwen looks up into her eyes then back down at his hands. "My first master was the closest thing to a father I ever had. And then there was always mom and there was always Auralis.”
(Dwen is looking down.)
(Hiryilia looks at the side of Dwen’s head.)
(Dwen looks up.)
Dwen: “I think I felt better when I thought Auralis was dead. Tridge was hurt and I was devastated and we needed each other to fill the pain." (Turn and look at Hiryilia) “I can’t imagine how you must have felt”
H: “Like you I think I felt better thinking that Auralis was dead … but really I knew he wasn’t and I tried not to fear-- I tried to do everything a good Jedi would do and move on because I knew this is what happened”
Dwen: “You knew he would go to the dark side?”
H: “No. but I did not know what would be worse; this or Auralis being dead.”
Dwen: “Auralis is dead.”
Dwen hangs head down, then shakes it somberly before turning to lock eyes with Hiryilia.
Dwen: “You’re the only thing I have not lost.”
Hiryilia leans in and kisses Dwen.
Dwen: “I guess it’s just us now.”

SCENE 17: Concord Dawn

Dice arrives. Dwen and Hiryilia greet him at the front of their small villa, a VERY modest home with a mild archway in front of a stone terace. There are flowers leading up the walk. A silver sun shade hangs above.

Dwen: “Welcome.”
Dice: "Are you Master Oriol?"
Dwen: "Just call me Dwen."
H: "And I am Hiryilia."
Dice: "Are you also a Jedi?"
Dwen: "One of the finest."
Dwen lightly smirks, as his girlfriend modestly shrug’s the compliment off.

SCENE 18: Dathomir

Tagnos lands on Dathomir and is walking at night through a strange "cathedral" of trees when he comes across four witches, a small coven in fact, just as another Dark Jedi comes upon them as well. The song “Dragula” by Rob Zombie is playing through this scene.

Tagnos: “I come seeking the Dark Jedi called Madune.”
One of the witches steps forward. From the formation of four witches and the Dark Jedi before him, she is in the middle.
W #3: “Why do you seek Ma…”
She is cut off as Tagnos begins to force choke her, obviously upset at not being given a straight answer.
The first witch, on his left, walks forward to try and get her compatriot released. Tagnos grabs her by the throat and incapacitates her, pulling her to him.
Tagnos: “Where’s Madune?”
His tone is obviously very irate at this point. The Dark Jedi steps forward and yells.
Lek: “Let them go!”
Tagnos throws the witch in his left arm away, and with the force throws the one he is force choking with his right hand by merely straightening his palm out. Without turning his body, or moving much other than his head, he faces Lektrial, with a look of confused pity, a tinge of contempt for the insolence displayed by the Dark Jedi. It is obvious that Tagnos is now very upset. Noting that this Dark one is bothered, Lektrial backs away, and opens his saber.
Tagnos opens his blade and steps in, fighting the Dark Jedi. The fight is over in six strikes plus one punch. As Tagnos drives his blade through Lektrial, Witch #4 approaches directly behind Tagnos. Without missing a beat or saying a word, Tagnos switches a button on, opening the second blade as he pulls the first from Lektrial and slides the second into the witch. He turns to look at the remaining three witches, and with a calm, ice-cold word he assures them his lethality.
Tagnos: “Madune.”
Naively, Witch #2 steps forward, her hand outstretched in an implementation of the force, attempting to use a mind trick on the Sith Lord.
W #2: “You will…”
Tagnos slices through the witch with a single stroke, making no apologies with his demeanor. He peers at the remaining two witches, the two which moments ago he was choking.
Tagnos: “Which one of you will take me to Madune, and which one of you will die?”
The witches stare at one another for half a second, and look back at Tagnos.
W #1: “We will take you to him.”
Tagnos turns his saber off and attaches it to his belt.
Tagnos approaches Madune from behind. Madune is in a small room eating some form of meat dripping with blood.
Mad: “Yes?”
Tagnos: “What may I ask are you eating?”
Mad: “Rancor.”
Tagnos: “Any good?”
Mad: “Better then wamprat.”
Tagnos: “Well it may tast like Pumpkin pie but I wouldn’t know. I would never eaten one.”
Mad: “You aren’t missing much."
Tagnos sits down in the only other seat without permission. This draws a dark look from Madune. Tagnos looks at the food, seeping blood that looks mysteriously like steak and barbecue sauce. Mad: "Well, what is it?"
Tagnos: "How much do you know about Concord Dawn?"
Madune raises his eyebrow at Tagnos and takes another bite.

Camera pans out till the fade out

SCENE 19: Concord Dawn

Dwen and Dice are dueling in a pine forest.

Dwen: "Feel the force flow through you. The force doesn't give you power. The force leads you to the power of your own self."
Dice struggles with this wisdom as Dwen presses harder.
Dwen: "A Jedi is of clear mind, but never of clear thought. Always thinking a Jedi is. But never confused. You must learn to focus."
Dice struggles to pare another volley.
Dwen: "Relax. Let the force be your guide."
Dwen is forced to block a 10 hit volley with accurate pares as his apprentice charges.
Dwen: "Good. Let it flow through you."
With that, Dice pulls off an amazing routine ending with a straight up behind the back block with a snap spin as he ducks. Dwen had fallen victim to this exact same move against Auralis when they fought as children. Dwen pared it, but was shaken. Off to the side, Hiryilia makes a comment.
H: "That looks like something that..." She trails off.
Dice: "Sir?"
Dwen: "Something my brother once did." Dwen delivers it with deadpan coldness.
Dice: "You have a brother, sir?"
Dwen: "I had a brother."
Dice: "I'm sorry sir. Did he die?"
Dwen: "You could say that." Dwen looks down at the ground then turns his head to face Hiryilia. He turns back to look at Dice.
Dwen: "You must be very wary of the Dark Side, Dice."
Dice cocks his head to the side in rapt confusion.
Dice: "Is the dark side stronger?"
Dwen just shakes his head while looking down then stares his padawan in the eyes and says:
Dwen: "I don't know. I just don’t know.”
Fade out.

SCENE 20: Concord Dawn

- 2 years later -

It’s nighttime on Concord Dawn, Dice is out in his room working on something, Dwen comes up from behind him.

Dwen: “Aren’t you done with that thing yet?”
Dice: “This is an art as much as a science sir..." Dice looks up at Dwen. "How long did it take you to build your first one?”
Dwen looks down and smiles.
Dwen: “Let’s just say less time then it has taken you”
Dice: “I’m almost done sir, just a few more minutes.”
Hiryilia walks in from outside.
H: “Something going on here boys”
Dwen: “Dice is just finishing up his saber”
H: “Ahh still not done?”
Dice hits the table.
Dice: “Must everyone give me a hard time for going at a slower pace?”
Dwen laughs.
Dice spins around in his seat holding his new saber in his hands.
Dice: “Finished… Looks nice huh”
Dwen: “Yes it does… Does it work?”
Dice: "Only one way to find out.”
Dwen and Hiryilia take a step back.
Dice closes his eyes and hits the switch, and the saber comes on.
Dwen: “Purple?” The word is half statement, half question.
Dice: “I felt like being different.”
Dwen: “Well that is enough excitement for me, night Dice.”
H: “Yes Dice, good night.”
Dwen and Hiryilia leave.

Fade out … Fade in morning

Dwen is in the kitchen of his home with Hiryilia, washing cups and bowls from the morning meal. He stares through the window at Dice who is practicing with his lightsaber. The camera shows Dwen through the window.

H: "He has been with us for years. Surely he is ready for the trials."
Dwen: "They have sent for him before. I just want to be sure he will pass."
H: "You doubt his skill?"
Dwen: "No, I doubt mine as a teacher."
H: "You've done a wonderful job."
Dwen: "Perhaps. I just want to do with him what I wish Auralis had done with me."
Dwen's lip starts to shake. Once again Hiryilia comforts him, this time instead of holding his head to her shoulder she kisses him lightly on the lips. Staring up at him she smiles.
H: "You have done a good job no matter what the context. He is a strong, confident, modest young man. He has waited so long to go before the council, they might give him his own Padawan upon graduation."
Dwen: "I just want him to never feel alone. Never have the people he cares about die or worse."
Hiryilia wraps her arms around Dwen in a soft embrace.
Dwen puts the dishes down and walks outside.
Dwen: "Dice, it is time for you to go to Coruscant for the trials."
Dice: "We're finally going to Coruscant?"
Dwen: "No, I will not be going with you."
Dice: “I don’t understand master-- why not?"
Dwen: “Dice, the trials are a test of you alone. Not of you with my guidance, or of you worrying about making me proud. They are for you and you alone.”
Hiryilia walks up to Dwen and Dice.
H: “Dice you have a Transmission waiting for you on the ship.”
Turns to look at Hiryilia.
Dice: “Thank you.”
Dice walks out of the room.
Once Dice is out of site Hiryilia walks up to Dwen and hugs him and puts her head on his chest.
Dwen: “So we are alone again.”
Hiryilia puts her hand on her tummy.
H: “Not for long.”
Dwen gives Hiryilia a big hug.
