Spent the weekend there... I have obviously been several times before but have decided now its one hell of an awful place. I would hate to live there.

Its very hustle and bustle.. no one is your friend in London.. The locals who live there all want to get where they are going and are happy to barge their way through... There is a negative and lonley feel about it.

Obviously there is alot of tourists mostly Americans and from Asia. A Lot of the tourists not all but alot seem incredibly rude people and treat everyone else like dirt. I dont know why it just always seems to be that way... mind you locals are similar so it must just be the vibe.

Prices are base price time 4.... a large coke is like £4 or $8.

Travel is cramped and youd never own a car in London..

For tourists ..........>>>>>>>>>>>> you might go to London to want to see a slice of England , but i think London nowerdays is very NON english.. apart from the architecture...

Your better off going to startford, warwick for something more real..

I like the buildings and things in london, got to admit..

Could never live there though, its a rip off and tis not a friendly place....

Edinburgh seems far more friendly.

well now u have a taste of every city in america mel :)

personally, i like that kind of atmosphere, i dont know why i guess im just a city child. altho if you get to some good cities like boston, which is very historical and a lot less busy compared to new york, chicago, LA, atlanta or philidelphia, you might find it a bit more likeable. ive never been to london so i cant compare it tho

We both live in the city though.. I have always lived and worked in teh city, enjoyed the rat race and the hectic traffic, trying to dodge around buses..

I dont think its the size which she is referring too, I mean Birmingham is very large as is Manchester but well there is a slightly different attitude there.

If you like busy though

London is busy

NY is busy

Paris though that is just mental!!! If you want a hectic place go there and never drive!!!! It is like a big demolision derby

Paris has nothing on Roma on traffic.

I spent only a day and a half in London. It was cleaner than Paris. When I was there it didn't seem dreadfully busy, but it was busy.

I love NYC, Did you know they did a recent study of all the major cities in USA of which one was the "meanest" and which one was the "nicest"

I cant remember which one was the meanest, but the nicest one, at the top of the list, was NYC.

...surprising, until you live there.

Roma? do you mean that as in Rome? I didn't think it was that bad.

Doesnt surprise me either Whenever I have been to US the people are so so amazingly friendly!!!

Cannot seem to do enough to help you..

Id be surprised if you got that treatent in London, half the people cannot even speak English!!

Can I ask an honest question though.. Do teh majority of Americans hate Europeans or something?? :s (genuine question)

Or are they rude to you??? (again genuine question)

more the second one i think, seems like europeans hate us americsn, with our huge ass cars, stupidity (the stereotypical south) and our lack of environmental care. thats wut it seems like to me, but i could be rong. you all europeans are all great people tho, so i guess im proven rong

The reason I ask is (Btw when i said europeans I never really meant here in UK as that seems to be very much ifferent)

It is just when I have been on mainland Europe alot of the time (not all of the time) the Americanstourists are really cruel to the people who live there ... and other tourists.. I was elbowed out the way while talking to the receptionist and got shouted at arrogantly .... bad case i know... Fortunateely Rich (partner) was up for telling them where to go. lol

Thing is , it is probably just bad luck that I have seen just bad cases... but wanted to know if there was a specific reason that there was tension..

Ps Grimm sorry but american cars are NOT something to cause Envy!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt he meant envious of the cars... Well I would be surprised if he did.. Ford cars are alright. I Drive one!!!! Id rather have a Volkswagon though.

Unless you mean teh size.... Alot of Europeans generally prefer smaller more stylish cars.. especially for city driving.

Funny what you say When people say European I dont class myself in that Category even though I sort of am... UK is really a floating Island bewteen them and US..

But anyway thats why I kinda dont liek London, it is a city populated by people who cant speak enlgish from europe, and alot of the normal Laaaandaaannners are a bit ya know... its each man for himself down there..

Id only live there with lots of friends and family around.

i havent seen alot of european tourists in my city, its not a place youd travel accross the ocean to go to specifically, but any that i do see arent arrogant or annoying, theyre nice people.

I lived and worked in London. I loved it. There are some crap areas but there are also very good areas with culture and hidden treasure. I miss living in London.

London - culture?? There isnt anyone british there.. The culture has been sucked out of it, and whats left is this ill view that England doesnt exist outside the M25.

My Family (mother side) is from london , but personally I just think its one of the worst places in Britian to live.. to visit its okay.
